The TRU exclusive MU X-Factor set comes with Apocalypse, Mr. Sinister, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Angel and Iceman. The only new figure is Angel as the rest are repaints.

Mr. Sinister is a repaint of the comic pack figure. I don't have that figure and after getting this one don't see myself chasing it down. I like the black and blue color scheme of this figure a lot.

Apocalypse is a repaint of the single card figure. While I really like the single pack color scheme and feel it is more classic and fits better with this box set, the black and blue of this figure is very cool too.

Angel is the only new figure in this set. He's built off a standard buck with a new upper torso to fit the wings.

The wings are two separate pieces and plug into holes in the back. They have a great range of motion and the sculpting on the feathers is very well done.

The one big downside to Angel is that his wings are bigger than he is and you can't fold them up completely and have him stand and the wingtips hang lower than his feet.

Jean Grey and Cyclops are repaints of the 2-pack and while there is a little slop on Jean they are for the most part solid figures. I like that Cyclops can almost get his fingertips up to his visor... almost.

Iceman is a repaint of the Spider-man and his Amazing Friends figure with a new belt. Iceman is made in clear with some white paint highlights. As a clear figure he's really cool and I'd like to get a second one to strip the paint off of and have a totally clear Iceman.

Overall this is a solid set if you want these particular costumes on the mutants and don't mind the colors on Apocalypse and Sinister. Angel will be coming in a single pack later this year so you can pass if that's all you want from the set.

Great review. Too bad about Angel's wings. I'll still get the single figure release because that is a great looking figure.

For Cyclops you can trim just a little plastic off at the elbow just below the bicep to get him to "salute".

The single pack Angel ... will that be coming in red, or in blue ... and if in red, will it be this X-factor costume, or the one with the ring on the chest?

//yes. i am lazy.

edit: also, thanks for the reviews & photos, MS!

I'm pretty sure the single pack Angel is the blue and white costume with the halo on the chest.
