Really impressed with this one. Especially surprised by the inclusion of the Mego figure. I had that one as a kid too.

Did you ever get the last wave of Armored Avenger figures? With the blue War Machine, Hydro-armor repaints and the gold and silver Mark III with the clear blue shields? Curious what you thought of them as they are all repaints.

Yeah as I said I only got the Hypervelocity repaint and the Inferno ones, was kind of umipressed and on top of that I was really in burnout on IM by the time it came out.

This was really fun! Nice way to break down the figures. It's one of the few lines where they could justify a lot of the repaints.

I always thought that the pieces should have been modular though... with the way the clear cards came with the figures overlaid to make different armor, seems like it couldn't have been THAT hard to make it so the entire line was mix-and-match so you could build your own armor.

I don't follow the variations between the different versions of the movie suit... are any of the Iron Man movie figures a good match for his Avengers armor?

There's an Avengers armor out on pegs now and one coming in the Nick Fury wave that is supposed to be "super-posable" whatever that means.

Not really. Not the second half of the movie anyway.

In IM2 he built the Mark VI suit with the triangle ARC Reactor which he wears in Avengers through the Helicarrier chaos. But while he's falling from Stark Tower he switches to the totally new and sleek Mark VII armor which returns to the circular ARCR but the rest of the suit details-wisw looks nothing like the red/gold suits from IM or IM2.

From what has been posted on Marvelous news it just means ankle and possibly double knees, there are some ebay acutions that make the "Super-poseablity" of it quiestionable. Wrists are apparently not part of that.

Yeah that would have been kind of cool, but I can see it blowing up too (kind of like how the old Toybiz line did with thier modular suits, all that happened was a bunch of armor bits ended up getting lost). But it is a neat idea for a sub line or a deluxe-ish line.

Yeah I have to agree, there really wasn't much different about the suit besides the reactor, I really didn't see the big deal about it and never bought the fig as a result. I doubt the super poseable one will be much different either.

Actually in addition to the round chest ARC reactor, the Mark VII has the larger missile pods on the shoulders like War Machine, sleeker lines all over and in the movie had additional booster rockets on the back, something we didn't get with the first Mark VII figure (but should have).

Those are the details I alluded to but didn't specify.

Yeah I have to honestly say those details didn't seem that signifigant of a change on screane when it came up during Avengers, you can see the difference of course but nothing so profound that I would go out of my way for it. I really think Mark III and Mark VI top the mark on movie IM designs.
