Sure... when Goldner steps down as CEO and is replaced by someone who lets the brand managers do their jobs, and cares about G.I. Joe.

It would make no difference who the CEO is. They're going to put the attention on what sells. GIJoe is not it and hasn't been for a while. Just look at how many times the line has been put on hold for something different to replace it and fail. Transformers has had 1 break. For a year. It has consistently been a top seller, even more-so now with 3 blockbuster films under it's belt. They are TRYING to make GIJoe the same but if the interest isn't there in the target audience, then no amount of caring is going to change that.

Very much agreed!

The nice things (for Hasbro) about a BAF is that it helps clear shelves. How long would Arctic Destro or missile Duke have to sit if they contained a good BAF piece?

They way I see this really working is if the parts could be mixed and matched in order to create your own.

Also, I don't think it needs to stop with BATs. I had actually thought that a BAF PAC/RAT would have worked well when I saw the missile launcher with reactive armor Ripcord. I imagine different weapons systems (missiles, lasers, machine guns etc) and other types of transportation (treads, wheels, walker legs, etc). It could be a lot of fun. I don't know why the Joe design team hasn't tapped into the BAF option already.

That could be a way to get Data Viper out. Repackage some of his gear to be compatible with other BAF designs.

The BATs are a nice solution to cartoon violence.
You want your highly trained special mission force to hit their marks when they shoot, but you can't have them shoot other people no matter how evil and corrupted they are, otherwise the parent associations will really want to destroy the brand.
Here come the BATs. They're robots, so Duke and the gang can shoot as many as they have bullets/lasers.
