Stunt doubles can be figures with broken crotches, thumbs, feet, or with some mismatched part that otherwise looks good.
My V1 Duke has both a broken crotch, and an asploded foot. He's co-piloting the Dragonfly.
I have a Viper with Tomax's legs, Hooded Cobra Comander v1 with an officer's waist, and a Baroness that went nipple surfing. They'd all look fine otherwise, so their in the gunners on my Hiss fleet.
I have one Stinger driver that's really jaundiced, so he stays in the Stinger, where you can barely see his head, anyway.
I have a Monkeywrench with a groin injury, he rides shotgun in the Thunder Machine. anyone else use this tactic to pilot their vehicles?

I know a bunch of people who do that, and I may do so when I get to put some stuff out for display

Apparently, hasbro will produce some for their upcoming movie line.

Good idea though.

I have a lot of damaged or repaired army builders scattered around vehicles or builder shelves. Off color Vipers with repaired hands or busted thumbs, or paint worn CGs in the cockpits of SMSs, etc. And I think a lot of my SNAKE armors are filled with CORPs figures.

I've been known to use busted vehicles in displays or creative angles. I have a Thunderwing missing a horizontal stabilizer, so I take pictures of it at angles where you can't see the missing piece. I've also got a vintage VAMP where the rear corner, fender flare and wheel are busted or gone that also gets the "certain angle" shots.

Before I was able to locate a good surplus of O-rings, many of my Vipers were standing at rigid attention, balancing hips on legs and torsos on hips.

I did that when I was young and didn't customize. Now I reuse/reconstitute broken figure parts in custom figs.
