Just something I've been thinking about the last few days...

First, the thread title means nothing to do with anything. It's just a line from Con Air

I've been thinking about how, even with how frustrating the toy industry has been for me, it's sort of been a great decade in a lot of ways. We got some great toys that I have wanted literally my entire life... I got myself an ATeam van, something I've wanted since I was a kid. Also, Tron light cycles. I wanted some of those since 1983. The only thing I HAVEN'T had a chance to pick up that I've wanted since I was a wee lad has been a Well of Souls playset. Even with as badly as I feel it was managed, I'm pleased as punch to have a full collection of Indiana Jones toys. I just wish they believed in themselves enough to have done the waves properly, and given me a dang Well of Souls, and a few more characters rather than so many redundant Indys.

Plus, you know. That BIG ASS Millenium Falcon.

I even have a 1:18 DeLorean. With Mr Fusion.

We have action figures now who resemble movie actors enough that they warrant multiple purchases for customizing purposes.

And then there have been the keen GI Joe and other 1:18 figure offerings, flaws and all.

There have been some great toys out there the last few years.

I whole heartedly agree.

Sometimes the toy industry can get frustrating, but man have there been some kick ass toys put out.
Just in the past ten years I've gotten almost all of my toy wants as well.

Hot Toys 1:18 scale Colonial Marines and Alien Warriors
1:18 scale Marvel Super Heroes
Big AT-AT
BMF
Transformers "Classics" figures
Third party Transformers (new Insecticons are AWESOME)
1:18 scale A-Team figures with van
1:18 scale Hellboy figures
Bandai Godzilla 50th Ann. Box Set (20 figures, 13 of which represent different Godzilla suits used throughout the film series)
1:18 scale Terminator Endoskeletons
1:18 scale Indiana Jones figures
new 1:18 scale Jabba the Hutt playset
new 1:18 scale Dewback
new AT-ST
SW "Vintage" series of highly detailed and articulated figures

As well as some toys that were relatively new wishes and ones I didn't realize I wanted, until they made them:

Cloverfield Monster
Hazard Vipers
Zombie Vipers
True Heroes C-130

Even with all of these mentioned, I know I'm forgetting even more.
It truly has been a great decade for toys.
For me, the past 10 years, may have been the best 10 years ever for toys.
