Wow, sooner or later, someone's going to pass Barricade off as Booster Gold. :-/

Silly, but I actually want to bid on it. I'm keeping my Effects MOC and I'm not sure why, so I've never held the actual figure.

And from what I've heard, Effects' headsculpt was one of those that was based on a real life person. 8-O

It's an odd figure, but given that he came in at the tail end of Star Brigade at the tail end of 1994, and was a new character, he picked up the nickname of "The Last Joe" for a number of years.

He needs to do a bit of resaearch. He called Depth Charge "Torpedo" and called Wet Suit v7 "Shark Man."

Obviously that guy he's based off of never got favorable performance reviews, either.

Some people shouldn't sell toys, y'know?

I heard once about an eBay auction from someone that was selling sports memorabilia. Apparently he'd discovered a MIB Transformers Jetfire somewhere in the attic or whatever. Had no idea what it was, thought it was just a toy, put it on eBay with a "Buy It Now" of, if memory serves, under twenty bucks. You can guess about how long THAT auction lasted.

Acquaintance of mine in town showed up at an estate sale once a number of years ago to discover some guy loading up the back of his pickup truck with original 1950's Barbies and 1960's G.I.Joes -- still in their SHIPPING cartons, never opened -- for which the individual had paid $150 total.

Personally, if that had been me getting away with a deal like that, I think I'd've been laughing too hard to drive properly... :-/

It is exactly what it says it is Olmec Bronze Bomber from 1988. They specialized in African American action figures. This was their GI Joe knock off line.

In 1997 they acquired some GI Joe molds and released a set of figures through TRU. Rumor has it they weren't widely released so most collectors never saw them. A complete set now will run you a couple of hundred dollars. http://www.yojoe.com/archive/actfig/bronzebombers.shtml

I know, I saw a few of these at Toys R Us when I was in college. Said to myself, "Meh, crappy knock-offs with bad heads" and walked on. Totally regret that now. But at least I picked up the complete Voltron reproduction that was sitting next to them, that one is one of my prized possessions.

Ohhh...for some reason I saw the arm articulation then the paint apps and figured it was some sort of Robotech knockoff line instead of the regular BB's.

I found this and bought it specifically because it was a goofy looking set of knock-offs. I only ever saw it one time, at a TRU in Philly I only went to once. I swapped the heads out for various Cobra vipers to make them officers or squad leaders. I know now that its rare, but worth hundreds? I had no idea. maybe I should dig them out and match up their correct heads again.
