Heh, the first thing that went through my mind when I spotted that Luke was "Battle Armor Luke Skywalker." It looks like if you punch his chest, the square will flip around to reveal battle damage.

Whoa...is the next wave beyond the ROTJ one already out? As happy as I am to see new Star Wars figures on the shelves (the spring and summer months were loooong), they're cranking these out awfully fast. I'm still on the lookout for more Rum Slegs; if they're already two waves beyond that, I'm probably out of luck with that.

That ROTJ wave is awesome, though: the two skiff guards are radical, as are Nien Nunb and whatever Prune-Face's buddy is called. Useful parts galore.

I love me some ROTJ, as its my favorite movie of the trilogy. I gave up on SW colecting years ago, but I have to admit I'm in for all of these figures except POTF2 Luke. Wait, thats not a POTF2 repaint? Oh, dear.

There isn't much in the ROTJ wave that interests me at all. I've seen every figure in five different incarnations by this point...except slave Leia. I'll take that one.

But the pegs around here are so congested with Thrawn and Xizor comic packs that no retailer will re-stock or re-order those SKUs. So at this point, there is no way that locally I'm going to find my Darth Krayt pack or that "you better show up or else I kill everyone" Exar Kun / Qel-Droma pack that's yet to come out.

Yeah, at this point in the game, the only thing that gets my interest are really good definitive movie figures (not that v-shape torso Luke) and EU comic figures.

If you have any of the TRU pop up mall holiday stores around you, try them. The ones here were loaded with the Krayt/Lumiya/Yuuzahn Vong comic packs.

I nabbed Slave Leia a few weeks ago at K-Mart, the same day I lost a bid for one on ebay that would have been twice as much as retail. lucked out. Especially since I was mildly disappointed - but that's explainable. As a Star Wars figure, it's pretty nifty. Nice swapping feature, excellent articulation (though you could argue that properly articulated hips would render the torso swap redundant), and strong articulation otherwise. My disappointment was that I am not a SW collector, and bought the fig to mix in with my Joe customs. The torso is perfect for that. The stumpy legs, not so much. So still worth the in-store fee, but boy am I glad I didn't win that auction.

EDIT: I also saw the in-scale radio controlled astromechs. Are these any good? Has anyone bought any? I assume they are new, but they are at least new to me.

Those little 3 3/4" scale astro-mechs are the greatest thing in the history of forever!

I believe they are store exclusives (Target?). They are repacks of figures that were available in Japan around the time of the release of Revenge of the Sith. The domes rotate left-to-right, and the droid whistles and whurrs as he moves around. It goes straight or turns in one direction.

Seriously, I have never had so much fun as I do with my R2-D2

Word. They are fun. Not the greatest RC vehicles you'll ever play with (they do fall over quite a bit). For a figure size droid though you can't beat the play features. The droid and the controller both have on off switches and the remotes are frequency accurate only for one of the four droids Target offers. So if you buy more than one you have to make sure the remote frequency written on it matches the droid you want to use. The buttons on the remote make it go forward or swivel for a 360 right turn. So if you want to go left you hit the turn button until he's facing that direction.

FYI, the Japanese Celebration exclusive versions of these were going for 30-50 before Target's exclusives hit.

Found the ROJ wave today. Really surprised what Hasbro did with Slave Leia - was not expecting the figure to have a thong. Now, Party Amidala has a friend to hang out with.

As for both the Skiff Guards, what an improvement over some of the earlier versions. Also, nice to see you can fit the Nikto's cannon on the front railing of the skiff. Now, if they'd just redo Weequay with the new articulation.

And, one more gripe about the BAF parts. Why is it every figure I seem to buy comes with an astromech body. My Jawas have quite a collection of those parts.

Really surprised...saw cases of Wave 9 Revision 2 at Toys R' Us today...with a "do not put on shelves" tag labeled until November 11th, 2009...WTBFH!??!?

I may go back just to make sure it wasn't November 1st. Eyes getting older & all ;)

I picked up Han Solo Death Star, Captain Jeromoch Colton, Agen Kolar, Plo Koon, to make the BAD that looks like a Terminator from TRU today. The BAD could also serve as Metallo from Superman/Batman Public Enemies as well-add a new lower body & green paint in the eyes for kryptonite.
