CC4:D8 - Create a TRU-style 5 or 6 Pack #8

This is kind of like virtual customizing. Here's the "game":

- Each day I'll post the name for a new G.I.Joe Toys R Us-style ARAH/New Sculpt 6 pack or 25th style 5 pack.
- Based off of the name, you decide which faction it is and what figures would be included in the set.
- Post the names of the figures and the parts that would be used for each.
- Let's try to keep this as realistic as possible. Thus, don't have more than one "new" piece on the parts lists. Stick with existing molds.
- Try to only use parts that we know that Hasbro has.
- For ARAH, I suppose you could list a balljoint head for a straight head torso (since they did mod one in the GreenShirt set).
- Feel free to list what colors characters would be.

Today's name is: Dr. Mindbender’s Revenge

Something called "Dr. Mindbender's Revenge" would almost have to spin out of his penchant for genetic engineering and cloning. I see the following:

ARAH, of course.

"After being betrayed by Cobra Commander one too many times, Dr. Mindbender puts his scientific knowledge of genetic engineering to use to create the most dangerous soldiers ever -- except this time... they work for HIM!"

DR. MINDBENDER - Based on the 1993 version, which I thought was a little more interesting looking, and practical, than the 1986 version. Maybe give him a little cloth lab coat.

SERPENTOR III - Based on the Serpentor molds, of course, but I'd made the outfit more reptilian in appearance, possibly molded-in camouflage in several shades of green. Maybe even slightly metallic green.

CROC MASTER - Signs up with Mindbender after being promised certain genetic enhancements for himself and his crocs. Based on original 1987 Croc Master, but with the same "camouflage" treatment as Serpentor, and greenish skin to his arms.

ULTI-VIPERS - (I thought about calling them "Maxi-Vipers" but it sounded too ridiculous, as did "Venom-Vipers") Dr. Mindbender has brought under control the same process once used to transform General Hawk into Venomous Maximus. These Ulti-Vipers are far stronger and faster than ordinary humans, but are under Mindbender's complete control. Serpentor is the field general. I'd create a new head, resembling Venomous Maximus, but with a mask covering the lower face. Road Pig upper body. Head, arms, and torso molded in lighter snake-like camouflage similar to Serpentor and Croc Master. Cobra tattoo on chest. Not really sure whose legs I would use. I'd try to avoid Road Pig's due to obvious repetition, but I'd still want something fairly futuristic with big boots. Three of these in the set.

I'm going to try this one in the 25th/RoC style.

BOX BLURB: After years of being Cobra Commander's scapegoat, Mindbender secretly begins working on his own sinister project and prepares to wrest control of Cobra from Cobra Commander one way or another.

Dr. Mindbender: Dr. Mindbender v1, Nitro-Viper torso, Air Viper v1 arms, Alley Viper v1 legs. Equip him with the Nitro-Viper vest, Resolute Comic Pack Destro's head device permanently attached to his head, RoC Cobra Commander digital controller, Dr. Mindbender v1 "cattle prod" and "The Doctor's" metal hands. Paint the body in dark Cobra blue with red trim and gunmetal grey for the metal parts.

Cyber-Viper (x2): New sculpt head (something similar to the original Cyber-Viper), B.A.T. torso (with a modified chest piece to make it look like heart monitor read out), B.A.T. v1 arms, Battle Armor Cobra Commander legs. Equip it with the three B.A.T. hand attachments and backpack. Paint the body a dark cobra blue with red trim and silver on the metal parts.

The Immortal: Use the entire Nemesis Immortal body only paint it with a black base and dark green where the body was originally red and make the skin a slightly pale color. Equip it with the original vest and the tentacle pack.

Bio-Viper: RoC Viper Commando head, Range Viper torso, RoC Viper Commando arms and legs. Equip it with a Neo-Viper vest, a Crimson Neo-Viper pike and Elite Viper axes. Paint it with a black base color and give the gloves a dark red color, paint the head in a flesh tone with dark red eyes (with the idea that it's not a helmet but a horribly mutated head).

25th/ROC

Dr. Mindbender- ROC The Doctor arms and lab coat, Dr. Mindbender head, arms, torso, legs.

3 x Mechano-Vipers- ROC Vipers with BAT arms. Painted black with gray and dark red highlights.

Hotwire- ROC The Doctor coat and upper arms, 25th CC lower arms, standard Joe body. New head. Painted to match card game picture.

Let me add this, since the Cyber-Viper was mentioned. If the Cyber-Viper molds are at all still viable, here's a figure I'd love to see the Club do in a more agreeable color scheme.

They vastly improved the Mega-Viper with a new color scheme and designating it the Swamp-Viper.

They vastly improved that ridiculous 1994 Viper with a new color scheme and reassigning him to the Iron Grenadiers as the Iron Anvil.

They even gave the Range-Viper a more appropriate color scheme when they put him in the desert-based M.O.T.H. set.

I'd love to see what the Cyber-Viper could be in a better color scheme, and almost anything WOULD be a better color scheme.

The only reason I left the Cyber-Viper out of my custom set -- and it occurred to me -- was because it seems in more recent years that Mindbender is more interested in genetic engineering, whereas cyborgs and robotics seem to be more the specialty of characters like Hotwire and Overkill.

Dr. Mindbender’s Revenge

The question is who Dr. Mindbender wants to get revenge from, G.I. Joe is the logical option and there are a few Cobra leaders he doesn't like too. But here is something different, Dr. Mindbender and his group of soldiers will have their revenge, against action figure collectors that decided not to purchase them because they were not included with enough accessories and didn't have a military look.

All figures comes with more guns and other accessories than even the new Pit Commando had. The uniform, in black like Chuck Norris had in Delta Force.

Dr. Mindbender - Wears a black baseball cap and also a monocle. Has a sub-machine gun hung over each shoulder and his belt is full of grenades.

Big Boa - He is a big guy, so that means he can carry a big machine gun. Cobra's answer to Roadblock.

Crystal Ball - A forward scout for the unit, using his mind as well as his night vision equipment to figure out what the enemy are up to, and formulating a plan to counter the attack.

Raptor - Not wrapped in wings, but still assimilating with nature as he has a ghillie suit. Also has ground-to-air missiles.

Darklon - Carries the biggest Gatling gun that a person has ever carried.

Neurotoxin - Dr. Mindbender’s bodyguard.

6 pack all with different versions of mindbender. story is Mindbender Has become so over worked by Cobra Commander he cloned himself and one of his clones Cloned himself. so you get cobra commander running around going nutz becouse he tells one bender to do somthing and then see that another is doing something else. ala Multiplicity. Dr. Mindbender: Kevin J. O'Connor head, Flash torso, SDCC Destro arms and legs, Rex labcoat, briefcase, nanomite cannisters and injector tool, Cobra Commander injector tool.

Monstro-Viper: Marvel Universe Hulk body, new head and glued-on fur patches.

Techno-Viper x2: Resolute Cobra Trooper head for one, classic "bald" Cobra Trooper head for the other, HISS Driver torso and belt, Rex arms, labcoat and claws, Neo-Viper legs.

Toxo-Viper: Repainted Lava-Viper.

Another largely easy one for me, since I just finished working on most of the figures I'd use.

The premise for my set would be that Cobra Commander has thrown Mindbender a bone, basically for being so darned wacky entertaining all these years, in the form of one completely funded and supported personal project for the bad doctor.

Being the king of all self-absorbed d-bags (even by Cobra standards) Mindbender decides to put Cobra's considerable wealth and manpower to task in seeking revenge on his two most hated enemies: Sergeat Slaughter, for all those merciless beat downs the Sarge inflicted on Bendy back in the Serpentor days of the DIC cartoon, and Psyche Out, because that blonde pretty boy gives mind-manipulating mad scientists a bad name.

For the title character, I'd use my recent lab-coat Mindbender:

Cobra Island Mindbender's head and legs
ROC Storm Shadow's torso, upper arms and skirt
comic-pack Ace's lower arms
Indiana Jones' hands

Assisting in the lab would be my Techno-Viper:

Doctor Mindbender, growing tired of the Commander’s failures being constantly blamed on him, decides that it is time to take action. Secretly stocking a hidden lab in an abandoned Cobra outpost and bringing in allies he can trust, Mindbender begins his latest experiment. Project Serpentor, a Cobra super-soldier and figure head for the Cobra cause, begins!

Cesspool: SDCC suited Destro body, R.o.C. Rex head, removable teal colored cloth lab coat. Blue suit jacket and pants, teal shirt, black tie, vest and shoes.

Hotwire: R.o.C. PP SS torso, 25th SS upper legs, 25th CG lower legs, 25th CC v.24 arms, 25th Buzzer head. White coat, blue pants, black boots, gloves and shades, dark brown hair.

Scalpel: R.o.C Flash torso and upper arms, 25th Zartan v.13 lower arms, Resolute Trooper legs, modified Scalpel head, 25th Beach Head face mask, new sculpted surgical harness. Green “scrubs” with white highlights, red harness, white mask, black gloves.

Cyber-Viper: Snowjob torso, B.A.T. upper left arm, Specialist Trakker right arm, Wraith legs, lower left arm and head. Gray base color with red highlights on the uniform, the boots helmet and lower left arm in gunmetal blue.

Serpentor: R.o.C. Arctic SS torso, Serpentor head and legs, R.o.C. Heavy Duty v.10 arms. Black 25th SS comic pack hooded cloak. DTC Hannibal sword, helmet and domed display. Black pants and wrist guard, green and gold boots. Pale flesh color on body.

Cobra Technicians X2: Head: ROC Zartan disguised as Pit Trooper head X2, different hair/flesh color. Body: 25A Snake-Eyes upper torso w/ Cobra Soldier arms, legs of 25A Cobra Commander. Molded in white w/purple leg stripes.

Mindbender begins his new project to take control of Cobra! Enter Project: Serpentor.

Mindbender: 25th head on Rex body in white, but with snake eyes chest painted purple, and black pants.

Nemesis Immortal: Black 25th body in black with red highlights with greenish skin and st shippy chestplate and batwings.

Venomous Maximus: Nemesis 25th body in grey and green with sideways cape and new right arm. use new head.

Raptor: Reactive impact Duke with nemmy wings in black with brown and silver highlights, new raptor, not sure on head but new headgear.

2 geno-vipers: genetically altered doctors with same body as Mindbender but in black with Croc master heads.

Dr. Mindbender's Revenge

At this point, this thread is two days old and I have been thinking about what or who the bad doctor would be exacting his revenge on.

I decided that in between the time he was killed by Cobra Commander (buried in the freighter during the Marvel run/resurrected as a clone later on) and his being killed by Cobra Commander (in the DDP run) he would have a set of plans in the works to preserve his precious bodily fluids...

So, in a secret lab deep beneath the Hollywood Hills, Dr. Mindbender's quest for revenge starts with "The Mindbender Protocols". Any documents discovered only lead to a dead on and a clue, "Cobra-LA"...

(all characters in color are my custom ideas).

-Dr. Mindbender (Laboratory): RoC Storm Shadow (coat) torso with Dr. Mindbender head, RoC 'The Doctor' waist/legs, and new arms with elbow length black gloves. Includes respirator mask that fits over his head (I saw something in a Danger Girls comic that looked perfect).

-Dr. Mindbender (Simulacrum): Figure would be made from parts with minimal clothing (25th Storm Shadow torso, Dr. M head, etc) to simulate clone body in cloning vat (a Star Wars Bacta Tank). Would include slip on armor pieces similar to his v2 look for that fresh-out-of-vat look.

-Reptilicus (aka Serpentor 3.0): Figure is created using 25th Serpentor with new head sculpt and additional detailing.

Subject is the result of Dr. Mindbender's continued refining of the Serpentor program, although it is based on a representation of history's greatest soldiers, not military leaders. Without all the conflicting egos and agendas of these leaders, Dr. Mindbender was able to create a soldier that was determined, brave, and more importantly, able to take orders. Cobra Commander is unaware of Reptilicus' true nature and believes his make-up is based on other historic military leaders. He is the prototype for a new type of soldier that will be completely loyal to the Doctor.

-Pythona: Figure is created using Scarlett RoC Armor torso and waist, Baroness Diver arms and legs (with slip on armor), and new sculpt head with a modified 25th Serpentor hemet. Includes alternate 'Cobra-LA' head

Subject is the result of Dr.Mindender's continued refining of the Serpentor program, although certain parameters have been altered to become female. She is also created from the DNA of history's greatest female leaders and soldiers. She is cunning , devious, near Olympic class prowess, and has been heavily indoctrinated in espionage and assassin training. She is the prototype for a new type of soldier that will be completely loyal to the Doctor.

-Venom Enforcers: Figure is created using a modded Nemesis Enforcer body with a modded VvV Venomous Maximus head to look less feral and more fodder-y. Character design should be altered to reflect the big brute status without the organic background in the visual design-more an armored look.

Subject is the result of Dr. Mindbender's continued refining of Neo-Viper program. VE's are all over 6ft 6in tall, weigh 300 lbs naked, and have the strength of ten men. They are known for their brute strength and stamina, genetically altered for size, increased muscle mass, protection of internal organs, and organ 'burn out'. Without any visible tubing that can be cut, these walking tanks simply keep coming to overrun enemy positions and destroy anything in their path. They are kept in coffin-like support boxes until activated.

-Scaleback: Figure is created using the Roc Eel head modded to be a helmet on a Elite Viper body with a generic head.

Subjects are the equivalent of the standard Cobra Soldier and have similar backgrounds like the Siegies, but are cross-trained in various scientific areas. These troops believe themselves to be part of a plan enacted by Cobra Commander and Cobra Commander believes they are troops that are worming there way into businesses and research labs. Unknown to both they are merely the pawn of Dr. Mindbender.
