Good ideas all around!

Another important concept to me would be limiting the number of figures per year to around 25 total. The ROC exclusive figures are at 20 or so.

Even grownup collectors with disposable incomes can hardly justify spending so much money for a complete collection. For a kid on an allowance it wouldn't even be conceivable.

I'd feel more like getting a complete collection if it were more than Duke #750 Snake-eyes #2000 etc.

File name and Birthplace = Classified, for anyone we don't already know about thanks to the movie. So guys like BBQ and Flash can be from where ever. Either stick to their 80s file card, or make them from Guatemala.

however, considering most 80s joes sold well over seas, and named characters who stayed the same character tended to keep their file cards just as they were in the US or got really abbreviated filecards with no personal info. I can't see the state of the world and how much they like America has little to do with how well joes sell. If their is a legit correlation we need to resurrect Zombie Reagan quick before Hasbro goes out of business. I have a chicken and a Goat we can use :shifty:

As far as my formula, I'd put out a cartoon 30 minutes long, on both regular cartoon channels, WB cartoon network, fox, and on Adult Swim. It doesn't need to be "Adult" It just needs to not be terrible.

Then I'd make figures of the characters from the cartoon. Probably using all existing parts from RoC and the 25th, maybe some new heads, and some new gear.

That is it.

Not true. In Canada a good chunk of Joes got their birthplaces changed to Canadian ones, plus all the American flags and mentions of United States were replaced by Canadian flags and CANADA.
Also, Action Force. All of Europe got their figures coming from various locations all over the world. Flint became David Faireborne from England, too.

Simply put, most people still associate GIJoe with "American army yay!", so they're less responsive to it. More emphasis on "international anti-terrorist force" can go a long way.

If they can do a Joe cartoon that's got the same level of intelligent writing as Transformers Animated had, I'm all for it.

No way, the whole international vibe is sort of what made the movie so win.

Flash is canadian btw.

Also, I vaguely remember dosser or jimmyboy stating that when their boys saw the 5 packs, they wanted them solely based on the fact that the pack had snake-eyes.

I'm only for more international if they make a Norweigen Quick Kick

He must come with waffles.

He needs lefse. And a viking helmet.

The line should be 8 figures per wave.

1 "core team" figure, doesn't have to be Snake Eyes or Duke

1-2 new guys, or even gals

1-2 B-listers

1 Cobra core team

1 b lister

1 newbie

1 troop builder

each figure would come with a bivouac accessory/dio piece such as a chair or computer screen instead of a lolhuge missile gun. All the parts would create a base themed off of the line itself.

Example: Breaker has to hack into Cobra satellite centers within Canada, and Snow Job, JoeCanuck, and Footprint are here to help!

Arctic Breaker

Snow Job

JoeCanuck (Why not?)

Footprint (new French canadian character, guy who specializes in cold weather pathfinding)

Arctic Baroness

Arctic Zandar, chosen for security purposes, could become Footprint's archenemy

Tele-Viper, but in long sleeved clothing for colder weather

Virus (new cobra hacker, because Mindbender can't do everything)

While I really like the construction of the ROC stuff (and the POC waves look even better), I tend to take most of the figures apart for custom fodder. The 25th line (new figures that closely resembled the classics) was what got me back into collecting and customizing. And, when I started really enjoying customizing, I decided that I would try to make a modern update of all the characters Hasbro didn't get to. I just didn't count on the line ending as quickly as it did.

So, I certainly wish that Hasbro would throw guys like me a bone and try and incorporate more old characters that they haven't released in the modern line as of yet, ideally with designs that resemble the originals. I was hoping they'd run two lines (movie and classic) concurrently but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.

So if was in charge, and couldn't set up a wholly separate line continuing what 25th started, I'd make sure that every movie-inspired wave had at least two solid 'homage' figures in it, and then maybe two brand new characters, and at least one that was either a character from the comic/cartoon that never got a figure, or a member of a popular sub-set, including MASK, Oktober Guard, the Red Shadows, etc. I'd continue the current policy of packing all the figures with a load of neat accessories and I 'd definitely subscribe to the idea of removable helmets for all.
