Well, opened the AMP suit. Good things: good articulation. Its detailed with some minor weathering to the vehicle which is nice touch. Unique looking mech.

Bad, which really irks me: quality control! The right leg is bent from being crammed into box (assembly is required for these vehicles). Left leg joint that connects to torso, broke. The arm joint holding the gun, loose. The gun doesn't fit well in the AMPs hand. Its a heavy gun and the arm just drops. The shoulder joints are loose. Has a dagger in sheath mounted to hull of the mech; the dagger does not fit in the mech hand.

The material, much like the grinder, does not appear to have the same strength/quality and feels flimsy (not Hasbro quality vehicle).

I'm hoping this is isolated and that my other AMP is not in the same shape. I'm crossing my fingers the Scorpion Chopper doesn't suffer from same issues.

Right now they're definitely not worth paying the price asked on some etailer sites.

I have to get working camera for these pics. Has good potential for a decent vehicle but not impressed with what I received.

Chad

I just picked up the Gunship and am assembling it now (yes, on lunch break lol). Hopefully nothing is out of the ordinary with it. Not even Mattel's standards ;)

Edit: Ok this thing has some good heft to it when assembled. sucks that the rockets & pods are glued to the vehicle. Also a small letdown that the front optical thing doesn't tilt and while the guns swivel they don't pivot downward (very minor annoyance, they look like they should. just a good sculpt job on them). The blades spin and the fan blades can be adjusted.

Ok the downside: the cockpit (hehe he said "LASER BLAST"...pit.) is a little too small to comfortably fit some of the newer joes in. like the resolute roadblock and gung ho's. those won't fit lol. but smaller ones like helix will. kinda depends on how slim they are and how well you can get their hips & knees bent. Not the end of the world...and no, no lift ticket or wild bill available to see if they will fit right now.

I heard it's to cover the cost of the time machine Mattel built to take them back to the early 1990s, when these figures must've been prototyped, because they look terrible.

HA HA HA that was great! Made me laugh out loud :-D

This is going to turn into another "the price point is that high due to licensing and production costs" isn't it... I hope we get a few vehicle shots before that happens. :shifty:

It fits one in it. It'd be nice if it held two, but that'd require it to be bigger which would also be a good thing. It's not bad for $28'ish bucks though. It looks like a big one person vehicle and not a little two person vehicle though :D
