I got giddy when I saw The Doctor's package art at Wal-Mart today!

...only it wasn't the Doctor.

I hate this figure swapper so much right now. He does crap like this all the time.

Are you sure it's a swapper? It doesn't make any sense to repack a figure that costs the same. Maybe a mispack from the factory?

Then again, figure swappers don't necessarily make sense.

Found Rex, Accelerator Suit Duke, Reactive Ripcord, and PP Baroness at Gordman's today. YAY! Rex is now in my top 5 figures EVER!

No sign of any of the other figures in the wave though.

Factory errors like these really don't happen anymore. It was an obvious swap-the bubble was kind of coming off. Chances are, he bought a bunch of figures at the TRU sales to use for swapping fodder or something. It's likely, as there's a TRU right near this Wal-Mart.

Yeah the bend on the cardboard looks like a "careful" pull back of the cardboard. As in pulling it back fast but trying not to rip it. I was shuffling through figures at Wal-Mart this afternoon and saw a Heavy Duty figure torn right off the package. The pack was still attached and it was hung all the way to the back of the peg. On the plus side I did get the Wal-Mart 2 packs with an extra so I can have 2 Night Creepers. I've got a slight temptation to get a 3rd, but probably won't.

See, now this is the problem with RoC's new collector-friendly packaging. You can open the bottom, slide out the plastic tray and put it back in and fold the bottom back up again.

We were seeing alot of swappers already with the taped-back style of packaging used on the comic packs... now this new packaging just makes it easier, without even having to replace tape or carefully lift bubbles or anything.

I like it. I don't have to buy 2 figures like this. I can slide the figure out and do what I want to do and put him back in and still have that "in package" look that I like for display. I hope they keep it since figure swappers end up doing this no matter what. I wish the people working these stores wouldn't be so ignorant anyway. They shouldn't put returned merchandise back out on the shelf unless they can 100% know that there is nothing wrong with the item.

While I'm not arguing that it's a swapper (If the package is opened, yeah it's a swap). Mispacks still happen all the time.

I've seen all sorts of 25th Mispacks come right out of sealed cases I personally unloaded off of trucks. My favorite was Duke on a Scarlett card during the 5 pack single card repack wave. Duke got some nice boobs in that card art!

Yeah, but Zartan and the Doctor aren't part of the same wave, making a mispack rather unlikely.

Not as unlikely as the package being opened. . .

Couldn't the "swapper" just have brought the MOC Zartan from TRU and used the Walmart receipt for a refund. Don't the joe figures just ring up as "gijoe figure" no matter the character. Seems like a lot of unnecessary work to open both figures and put the Zartan in place of the Doctor. Not saying he didn't do it, but just saying it seems pointless.

Swappers are stupid. He probably thinks each store has it's own UPC code. You wouldn't BELIEVE how many people think that

Everybody keeps saying ROC packaging is collector friendly. How are people opening them without damaging the package? I don't understand.

A possibility for those whondering why they'd even bother to swap like this: maybe they bought Zartan and decided they didn't like him once they got him home and so swapped it.

If you carefully pull the tape on each side, or just cut it, there are tabs that allow you to open the cardboard. The glue holding the cardboard to the blister pack can be removed too if you carefully lift the cardboard and slowly run a knife along the opening. You won't damage the cardboard at all then. Once open you rub the glue loose. Pick area on each side of the blister to cut so that it'll be within the area the cardboard was at. Cut the line along the base of the cardboard were the blister pack is already perforated. Now you can swing up the bottom of the blister and slide the figure out. You can slide the figure back in when you're done with him, close the blister pack and fold the cardboard back up. Insert the tabs and it can be displayed like this and opened up again anytime you want. A figure swapper of course would leave the glue so that it'll seal back when they close it back up, but like I said, every figure pack that's come out we've seen figure swappers figure out a way to open the packs and reseal them.

I see.

i always cut the tape and rip the bubble off. It didn't occur to me that the cardboard front could separate from the bubble.

Thanks J_Man!

I'm not patient enough to cut it all collector friendly like. I get too excited and just rip into that package, like I'm trying to save a drowning friend.
