I'm all of the sudden looking at a pile of spring-loaded rocket launchers and I'm all like, "How...?!??"

Dag.

The spring loaded stuff isn't for everyone, but I remember when I was a kid I loved that sort of thing (granted that was back when they had a lot of power and could put out eyes). Now a days I don't care for the spring loaded stuff and that is way it either never leaves the package or gets quickly set aside so I can enjoy the rest of the figure and accessories. Sadly though now the guns don't come in realistic neon colors like they did in '91

My children love these. My wife wasn't thrilled as I am still looking for the AS Ripcord missile. joe michaels has a great idea in using thse for dio pieces. I am trying that this weekend.

I usually toss mine, but I held on to the Firefly missile launcher. It looks really good to me.

I think that Hasbro did a great job with the launchers.

I know I'd prefer a lower cost and no launcher, but if they must be included, they did an awesome job. Eel's launcher sprouts wings and has handles. It clearly looks like something he would have that would aid in him moving quickly under water.

RA Ripcord's launcher looks like a Pac/Rat.

Then a ton of them are made to attach to the Pit, so it isn't like they have to lug them around. Overall, I think they show some variety and ingenuity. Sure, I'd MUCH rather have a bunch of accessories like Pit Commando. But for what they are, they are well done.

could you expand on this idea a little? which ones, specifically, and do you have photos?

All of them are supposed to, and going forward, will. The designers said that at the display when I was talking to them about the launchers (no, not complaining about them, talking about how cool the add-on to make them not-launchers was and asking if we'd see it packed with more than just the HISS). They said that the launchers were designed with the ability to attach to the Pit. Not having it, I guess they probably mean the ones made to look like stand-alone pieces, not the ones that are shoulder-mounted, since they only have pistol grips, and no clips or pegs standard to the others.

I know Cover Girl's missile launcher has a huge peg on it, maybe that can attach somewhere... Otherwise, I don't know.

I'm just glad we've gotten some missile launchers that are useful, like Desert Duke/Reactive Armor Heavy Duty's, Breaker/Sgt. Stone's missile launcher stand, Reactive Armor Ripcord's PAC-RAT-esque tanklauncher, Ice Viper's skipedo, Barbecue's launcher (which works as a high-pressure water launcher, instead of his puny squirt gun), Eel's torpedo-launching sled, Firefly's reused DTC Salvo launcher... plus whatever Pursuit Of Cobra throws our way.

So in the end it hasn't been all bad.
