Just got mine in the mail (no I didn't buy one, traded one for a box of parts n' crap, so I have less to take to Joecon)

no camera, so I have to do this verbally:

1) first of it isn't black. its cobalt blue with blue-grey trim (the colors are so similar, it almost looks one color.)

2) THIS ONE IS A SHOCKER!!! IT HASN'T BEEN RETOOLED AT ALL!!!!

It still has all of its functions, and the RAH footpegs!!!!! other than new plastic colors, its exactly the same as the original.

except... in my opinion, the plastic feels ..."different" than the original. along the same quality plastic as those TRU military knockoffs.

ALSO, you have to apply new stickers (ROC versions) different than the DTC ones.

3) Heavy metal looks cool, he does suffer from limited articulation from his elbows, though.

4) 25th figures are a problem!!!
only the figures with corrected waist articulation can sit in the seats (tank seats). even some of the ROC figures, like Sgt. Stone cannot drive the RHINO (although Breaker & Covergirl can)

the older 25th figures can fit in the cockpit of the copter, though.

all in all, I give it a B- if I was using strictly RAH/new Sculpt figures. but a c- for 25th figures.

.....definitely NOT worth 55 bucks, though.... wait for clearance.

So basically this is a waste since you can't use the footpegs (unless you either dremel the pegholes bigger on their feet or sand the pegs some on the Rhino). Also the Joes fitting into it sounds like a pain as well.
This is going to be a big meh until it hits hard clearance.

there is SOME good, though....

1) If you like the original RHINO, then this is the same vehicle in different colors.

2) They did fix that rear missile launcher, it now faces straight back, or front. No more 45 degree angle.

3) they have a promotion for that free Pit sweepstakes. it comes in a cool cardboard box that looks like a briefcase. could make a cool dio item... (yeah, i know, Im reaching....)

I may pick it up if it ever goes on super clearance. I'd like to get the figure. But it may not be worth being saddled with the vehicle.

Don't get me wrong, The Rhino Rules!!!

It in my opinion was and is one of the best RAH/New Sculpt vehicles made, and an excellent addition to your collection. (This one brings my colum up to 4)

however,..

1) Its just not 55 bucks cool.

If you wonder why the original DTC Rhinos still sit on ebay unbought for the 50+ price. Its a great vehicle, but for 55 bucls you would be expecting something along the size of the Pitt or Rolling Thunder. Hell, The Rolling Operations Command Center wasn't that expensive!!!!

2) Seriously wrong marketing

For it to be Marketed as a Rise of Cobra vehicle, and be packaged with a 25th style figure, you would think the figures could interact with the vehicle fully. The incompatible footpegs is a big loss, especially witht he quick open left door. it would have been cool for Heavy duty to pop out with his minigun,. without falling down

I currently have Deep Six, Shipwreck, and RA Ripcord in the troop compartment, but Heavy duty barely fits in the door compartment (You have to crouch him down to fit.....) Sgt stone doesnt fit in the forward driving compartments (hell, Rampage/ Heavy Metal Barely fits!) But Breaker, Scarlett, and Covergirl does. I do have Sgt. Stone in the pilots compartment in the coper though.

I think I'll just use my black one I got when HTS had it's major clearance. It will go well with the black Humvee I got at the same time and the black and gray camo look most of my Joes will have.
I'll just have to see if I can find a Heavy Metal on ebay loose to go with it.
Thank you for posting about that...just saved me some money to spend on other Joe stuff.

ooohh the footpegs didn't get changed? :-|

I'll pass on it as well.. I don't need a straight repaint that can't stand for the figures it's marketed for. that's kind of a disappointment. Maybe I'll pick it up on clearance and shave the footpegs down, but otherwise that's a $50 heavy metal.

Let's be honest and sum up why Hasbro re-released it.

How well does Wild Bill fit in any of the vehicle spots? :D

B/C he probably fits perfectly. Hasbro, keeping the WB Mancrush Alive in '09.

Wild Bill...the only Joe that can drive both a tank and a helicopter better than any other Joe ever.

... what rear mounted missile launcher?

All the launchers on my Rhino are modular.

Guess you have a point.

But just to be clear, the misaligned rear left connection port is a common occurence?
Because I always thought I just got a factory error, since no reviews I'd read made mention of it.
