Cameron is a dick.

but those vehicles look pretty good, though the flying thing appears to have the pilot molded into it.

I don't know about that, judging by the shadow of her head/helmet, it looks like it is a separate figure (i.e. the shadow looks to disappear behind the figure's shoulder and not across the shoulder as if it was flat-molded to the seat).

Even if it is molded in, that never stopped me before LOL

No, Cameron's Avatar has nothing to do with Avatar: The Last Airbender which is being directed by M. Night Shyamalan. Cameron's Avatar is the reason The Last Airbender is being called "The Last Airbender" not "Avatar: The Last Airbender". Hollywood drama.

Ah...that partly ends my confusion.

My mind still boggles at the design of those hip joints....WTF man...WTF!

They look like what DC's 6" scale figures use...but in 3 3/4" size...wtf indeed.

Hey, why complain? It looks like Mattel learned its lesson about straight T-crotches this time. I'm all for it if it means I'll get civvies who can actually pose like real people. Plus there's a bipedal, manned mech. Plus, that gunship is totally going to Cobra if it isn't insanely expensive. I really hope TRU does another sale for these like they did for Terminator.

Ok the little Dragon Hawk is cool looking...but all I am gonna say is it's Mattel - so I will wait and see and hoep they learned from the Speed Racer debacle and the undersized DC' universe

Oh crap for a while I had money. Nothing new was coming out for GI Joe, the Marvel figures were only tricking in, and the Transformers movie toys just didn't appeal to me at all.

Now the shelves are going to be full of GI Joe stuff I want. Marvel is starting to pick it up and doing villains since I can't say no to a really cool villain. Now on top of all of that you had to go show me some pictures of stuff that also goes right on my I want to get that list.

Really loving the vehicles if the scale is right for them to work with GI Joe figures. The creatures are really great because just last night I was fussing about the lack of alien things outside of the Star Wars line. The critters are way up there on my to get list. Not sure about the human figures yet I'll have to see them in person to know for sure.

Oh darn I've gone from buying nothing to having to figure out how I'm going to expand my display space now that we are getting so many things that work well together in the 4" range.

Okay, that AMP Suit is impressive. More realistic Exo-Squad.

Love that Scorpion helicopter whatever the heck it is. Is THAT going to be 3-3/4" scale?

Who's making the toys? (EDIT) Okay, Mattel. Not bad.

As for that hip joint, indeed it does look like what the DCUC figures use. And honestly, it tends to LOOK better than a ball-and-swivel joint. It's a LITTLE more restrictive, but not by much. And when it works, I've had no reason to complain about it on DCUC.

And what is this Avatar movie? First I've heard of it. (Okay, so I pay virtually no attention to movies...)

Those vehicles look sharp. I'm not too keen on the figures and creatures but those vehicles might be getting picked up by the Joes.

Well, after researching the movie a bit, I see a film where the emphasis is clearly on some pretty impressive advances in CGI and special effects technology, backed up by a story that's -- um -- possibly interesting and definitely peculiar. It's either going to be a decent hit or a major flop, in my estimation. How that'll affect the TOYS, we'll just have to see.

Sputnik will probably get some of these figures for an "Avatar: The Last Mindbender" custom...

Okay, having seen these toys in person today, I've gotta say they're really impressive. The vehicles are pretty big. Especially the gunship. No undersized stubby tail or anything. And the pilot is not fixed to it. She is definitely removable. The mech looked really nice too and it appears to be fully poseable as well. Some of those monsters are BIG. That orangish looking bird one has a huge wingspan.

Oh, and the funky gimmick of using a webcam to display a full 3d image of the toy is actually pretty neat. They were displaying it at the show. I didn't get to mess with it due to the number of people around, but it looked like you might be able to manipulate the models to some degree.
