My cousin's little boy is 8 years old. I'll often give him some stuff I don't want/need, and he seems to enjoy it. A few months back, when I found some of the DVD packs heavily clearanced at Wal-Mart, I bought them for fodder, and gave him the DVDs. Saturday, we were out, and cousin's little boy and another little boy were sitting in the back seat of my cousin's truck, watching DVDs.
I didn't know what they were watching, when all of a sudden I hear a yell from the truck, "Awesome! Storm Shadow!" followed by, "Hey, there's Snake-Eyes!!' I walked over to the truck and asked if they liked watching GI Joe, and little cousin says, "Yeah! Remember, you gave me these DVDs, duhhh!" I kind of laughed and said, "Did you know there's a movie coming out?" They both replied, almost simultaneously, "Oh yeah, I've been watching the pieces of it on the computer!" (I figure that meant they've been watching the previews a few times.)
Anyway, they're both excited about it, and while I've given little cousin some of my cast-offs, I'd never really told him anything about Joes, so what he's picked up has come either from the DVDs or what he's seen about the movie (and maybe Sigma 6). Just thought I'd share that there are kids out there who like the Joes.

great story.

Some optimism from the other end of the spectrum - was at my older brother's house Saturday. Mid-40s, attorney, played with AT era Joes, but had only passing interest in my Joes when I was playing with RAH stuff (he's 8 years older than me). Commercial for the movie came on, before they said the title, I told him to check it out. He seemed pretty interested in the preview, then when it said at the end G.I.Joe - he was like "Sweet" and told his daughter she was going to see it with him.

has less to do with the future of the line than yours (though I bet his daughter likes it - she is into Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Dr. Who), but I think it's a good sign that the movie might draw in enough folks who don't view the line like we do, to be successful enough to make a run.

Cool stories.
I went to TRU yesterday and as I walked to the door a little boy and his mom came out of the store and the kid was reading the file card behind a ROC figure. When he was done he tore the bubble from the card to get to his figure.

Reminded me of me..... about a week ago :-D
