The original Flagg's deck is lost, it is the largest and most significant part of the toy, and is too expensive to make new molds for - so no, the Flagg will never be re-released according to the Hasbro toy engineer who designed it (or at least tested it by standing on it) - this was explained to me first hand and became a topic of conversation between JC members and Hasbro staff at the bar during the Atlanta convention.

Certainly things could change over the years but the original Flagg was a poor seller in the first place and only released in the first place as a Trojan Horse marketing ploy to convince the buyers who were skeptical about GI Joes success that Hasbro believed enough in the toy line to risk something like a 7.5 ft long toy. The ballsy move worked then. But todays market doesn't placate such actions. The original Flagg would take up more shelf space than the Millenium Falcon and cost twice as much.

Now the new cartoon has a new Flagg in it and there was speculation (photos?) that a new, smaller, Flagg based on that design may be released one day.

Personally I'd prefer something more LHA size using the cartoons split-V runway design and a launch for the Whale on the back.

Interested in getting a complete FLAGG?

Here's how to get one in no time flat:

Every time a re-release is questioned or rumored, put $20 in a jar. Within 2 years you can afford one complete. ;)

Hoot, I know this sounds like a good idea, but trust me. If you continue to fill that jar, 10 years from now you will have no whare to sit in your house. ;-)

Honestly the best way is find one local with the big chunks and piece it together. I bought mine for $50 over 10 years ago, threw another 50-60 to get the parts (over years, mind you) and finally sold mine for $750, prior to the economy tanking.

True, but by then you would have enough 20's to buy a mansion to hold the remainder of the 20's you didnt use getting the mansion.....

......and then you might also have enough room for your ten Flaggs.

Aside from mine getting put together every few years It mostly sat in a box in my garage when I had it. While I would love to have one again, I just don't have the space. Never the less...it would be totally BA.

Even though it is a pipe dream, I would definitely purchase a retooled Flagg if it were ever released.

For now, I have 2 Flaggs. The first which is in very good condition. IIRC, it even has that mike system.

The second was a custom Cobra carrier that I bought off ebay a couple of years back. I just want to get rid of it so I am going to give that to my buddy and we are going to restore it back to the original state. Well, as close as possible to the original state anyway. Am already thinking those Star Trek bridge stations might add some a touch or two.

He doesn't have one and I want him to have a place to display his Joe aircraft fleet. I will get started paint matching soon.

Anyway, am holding out hope that the new PIT vehicle might bode well for another large Joe vehicle (maybe even a sea veesel) to be released. Or maybe even the TTBP? Thanks.
