Picked up an Assault on Cobra Island Recondo off ebay and I figured you guys might want some pictures.

Is it a perfect new version of jungle trooper Daniel LeClaire? No. But then for me the original figure never had any excitement factor anyway, the character as written was cooler than the old khaki figure was. So this is mostly a Dusty repaint with a new, appropriate head/face sculpt, but it works in the spirit of being a new take on military safari tour guide.

And FINALLY his freakin' hat comes off his head after 25 years of waiting!

PS yeah, the rifle is an all new sculpt. it's similar in the pictures to his original but it's definitely an update. (if I had one of the original guns from '84 I would have snapped a comparison picture of them but I don't.)

Thanks for the pictures!

I may have to snag him from ebay too. I was really hoping they would make a Recondo, and was a bit peeved when it was announced that they were, but he was part of a 7 pack, with 6 other figures I have no real interest in.

He looks really good too.

I thought that figure looked cool in the promo pics, but these are by far the best pictures I've seen of this figure yet, and they make the figure look even cooler. I love Recondo. The DDP Special Missions with him "dying" was one of my favorite issues from that publisher. I snagged a movie Ice Viper off of eBay a few weeks ago, because I couldn't wait. I know I'm buying these packs, so I need to hold off. I don't have any use for two Recondos, but man, I can't wait for these packs to come out.

He does look good . Thanks for the pictures.
From the shots, the only minus is his tiny shoulder holster.

I'll wait for the packs for him. I do want the other figures too so I can wait.
The cobra island pack is another story.

You know, I like that head more than I thought I would from the few images we've seen prior to this.

Thanks for sharing.

Stinkin' awesome!

Okay, Hasbro, where are these sets? I swear, if these sets get a DTC Mutina-treatment, I might finally give up toy collecting.

I have to say for being mostly a repaint of a previous figure as Night Force Cynic says, Hasbro has managed a more than capable 25th-style likeness of the original Recondo. Of course the headsculpt really makes it. Not sure about the removable hat. Actually, what I'm not sure about is the hair. Parted in the middle? How 80's can you get!? Hey, Luke Skywalker called -- he wants his hairstyle back... :-D

More or less kidding there. This is one of the better transitions to this style, likeness-wise, that I've seen.

Yeah I'm really looking forward to these packs, I picked up Chuckles of Ebay a couple of weeks ago, he was one of two figures I want multiples of for customizing reasons. I was most excited for Chuckles, Recondo coming in a close second. I want him even more now, great photos.
I kind of wish they weren't including Outback though. I just got my vehicle case today, and I love him he's a great figure. I just think it's a missed opportunity for another new Joe figure rather than a night force repaint.

Nice. Finally the singer Marty Robbins gets an action figure likeness :rotfl:

I bought Chuckles too from the same seller a half hour after the Recondo auction ended but for some reason he hasn't shown up yet. Whenever he does get here, I'll take some pictures of him to back up the one that Bura Bura posted.

I'm happy with this Recondo figure. I'm glad you guys are happy to see more pictures of him.

These 7-packs better hurry up. I NEED them.
