So, the original Officer from ‘82/’83...straightforward design, nothing fancy, all the gear fairly self-explanatory...except that gray pouch/thing on the left side of his web gear. Unfortunately, his weapon is obscuring that area of his torso in the card art, so I’m clueless as to its original intent.

So what is it? Just another pouch? Or is it intended to be something else? Physically, it’s different than the black pouch on the opposite side of the harness. What makes it special? I know that on the harness for the 25th version, it was just another pouch...but SOMEONE had a reason for making it different in the original version. Why?

Any info/opinions/ideas would be appreciated. Thanks! :-)

because of the little round bit on the front.... I've always thought it was a time bomb.

It's probably not though, the probably just wanted the circle to be gray on a regular black pouch, to be a badge or something, and the paint mask was off...

I always figured it was a camera.

But timebomb works too.

It's an agonizer, designed to inflict tremendous pain on Cobra Troopers when they get out of line.......

or it could be a bomb as mentioned before. :shifty:

I always assumed since his webgear was based on the german web from WWII it was the flashlight issued early in the war:

The Stinger driver has it too in red and I always thought it was a bomb. The circle is centered on the mold like it is on the flashlight but it certainly could have been based on that too.
