I got mine last week (the special edition one). I've yet to open him.
Great review though.

I'm kinda glad I cancelled my pre-order. He looks fine, but I think Snake-Eyes was a bad choice to try and redesign. Everything below the neck looks very generic, and with the tight top and baggy pants, he looks very disproportionate. Skinny arms, maybe *too much* gear, and whats with the stretch band at the bottom of his pants? Is he wearing sweatpants or fatigues?

Snake-Eyes looks good as a commando, better as a ninja. Both at the same time? I don't think it worked.

Still looking forward to the Commander, tho.

I'd get it if I hadn't come to the realization that 12 inch figures end up purely on display for me. As cool as they are, and this one is really well done, I can't justify it even if it were a bargain price. Teh accessories are really top notch. That sword is 1:6 version of the 1:1 sword that came out a few years ago. That is an incredible attention to detail. Sideshow does incredible work and I've see them first hand at shows get back their buying price and then some. I also saw in the latest Lee's their companion piece for this figure, a bombed out part of a building with Timber. That is pretty cool, but it really has me excited about what they will do for Cobra Commander, please be a thrown, please be a thrown. :-D

I got my SE last Friday and I am thoroughly pleased. A couple of little details about both the figures as well as the concept that Sideshow is putting together has me really excited.

First of all, I have NO issues with the price for this level of detail, pouches are fully functional, the base-body for the figures is a bit unsightly with the obviously exposed articulation but under the uniform it gives an impressive range of motion.

Secondly, while I did not care for the Reloaded comic series, seeing these figures based upon the updated character designs in that comic is really a neat touch. This is most prominent with Cobra Commander but also is very strong with Snake Eyes' design. But I am happy to see Storm Shadow be more ARAH than the Jet-Li Stormy of reloaded.

Anyway, this line is getting my full support and financial backing. I'm sad to see such a quality 12" Joe come from a company other-than-Hasbro but Sideshow has proven to be completely capable.

He looks pretty sweet for sure, and that Timber is nice as ice, but I am really looking to see what they do, if anything, with Baroness
