This is in line with the Combat Heroes version from a few weeks back, so no real surprise here. I find it an intriguing look.

The movie tells his origin story, to my understanding. Who knows, he might just have a baby blue uniform and faceless helmet for part 2...

but I hope not :whistling:

After seeing this, any hopes I had (wich were already slim to none) Of there being any redeeming qualities to this movie have just been trashed.

I wish they had just left this one 80's franchise alone and screwed up the Thundercats or Gobots. :verymad:

They showed the Baroness with her glasses and I was like oh cool I've got to see this movie.

They showed a former Dr. Who would be playing Destro and I was like cool I've got to go see this movie.

They said Ray Park was playing Snake Eyes and I was oh cool I've got to go see this movie.

The Cobra Commander figure, ugh now I don't know if I want to go see the movie or not. It's not that Cobra Commander can't change up his look because I liked his Sigma Six look and heck I even own the horrible Cobra Commander in Space figure. But darn that look just isn't cutting it at all for me right now. It's sort of the make Starscream butt thing all over again. It's like the characters Chris Latta voiced are cursed to be made butt ugly in movies rather than having their 80's charm left intact.

This 'CC' is definitely unique (it's the best word I could use to describe him). I can't see a good pic all that well. I'm trying to get over the fact he has what looks like a transparent helmet. Guess it take some getting used to. I also noticed on eBay that the bid on this cobra commander is up to $51.00!

I do like the cobra troopers (the M.A.R.S Industry figures). Although not the blue uniformed guys, they're still pretty cool. Makes me wonder if the uniforms will change in the 2nd movie?

Why do the people bid like crazy on these figures?
The stores will be overfilled with them by summer time.
Almost $50 for a SE figure that we'll be able to get for 1/5 of that price...?!
What about CC who's now at almost $80...

Is it that important to be the first to get it?

I think it's possible. The first movie isn't even out yet and in some interview they were talking about maybe not using the accelerator suits in the second film. Since we've seen figures in more than one type of outfit it looks like they didn't go the superhero way of I have to wear the same thing all the time but with the more military way of wear what fits the mission.

I guess with a first film it's sort of hard to know what people are going to like and what they aren't going to like, but it's kind of encouraging to feel like if the feedback is we don't like something then the film makers are open to some change for the later films. Plus they can always use the excuse of the first film is the start of the GI Joe vs Cobra war so the look will evolve from the first conflict.

Since they said that Cobra Commander wasn't going to be a major role in the first film this might also just be some transitional look between normal person and masked villain, perhaps some medical mask after something disfigures his face and thus a reason behind why he wears hoods and battle helmets.
