So, for this argument, are Vader and Anakin one in the same?

I didn't count Anakin Skywalker's figures, but there have been a ton of them made over the last 10 years or so. If you counted them along with Vader, I'd guess the number would be closer to 80 or thereabouts. I'm not going to find out the exact number, because looking at that many Anakin Skywalker figures would make me sad.

Agree, but which is sadder? The amount of Anakins there are, or that there are 48 versions of Vader - 48 versions of some asthmatic dark lord in a black suit with helmet.

Is it is a Joe? I think Cobra Commander has 42,

That is an astounding number of figures for a character that was "killed off" for a good chunk of the Marvel run and also bumped off in the 'toon movie. He's my favorite character and I'm glad he triumphantly returned, but they really need to lay off all the CC repaints. If they insist on putting him out they should try some different looks. I wouldn't mind seeing a 25th version of his '91 look.

If we're counting all versions of Snake Eyes and Cobra Commander then we have to add the Combat Heroes versions, right? If so then that's an additional 2 versions of CC (CH wave 1 and movie) and 3 versions of Snake Eyes (SDCC preview, CH wave 1, and movie)... and had the 3rd wave of kiddie figures actually happened there would have been a hooded version of CC there too. Right?

But he is an asthmatic dark lord in a black suit with helmet who can take you out from a star ship accross the galaxy with a thought.
