Transformers has been out on DVd for years why is it news that its being redone? Joe on the other hand that is news.

The TF and Joe original DVDs that were released from Rhino aernt availible in stores anymore, havent been for about 5 years now, and the ones in the aftermarket usually sell for 60-100 bucks a pop, so there a Mite difficult to obtain. Even the Beast Wars and Beast Machine dvds are a bit pricey...

Sony announced they were gonna release the DVDs again at a cheaper price 3 years ago when they released the 25th anniversay edition of the Movie and Movie soundtrack, with G.I.Joe rumored after that. Something happened after that kiboshed the whole plan...

If memory serves, they never QUITE finished the run of G.I.Joe last time around. Here's hoping they do it this time, in completion. Since I never got any of these DVD's last time out, maybe this will be my second chance.

I Have all of Exosquad and Thundercats on my harddrive,... That still didn't stop me from buying the dvds.

Another reason to buy new copies will be if they don't include the added animation errors.

When they made those cartoons back in the 80s, they often fixed errors in the film when the show was put to video. But Rhino did their release straight from the film masters. I think they tried to re-make some of the changes, but a really good chunk of info on that can be found here (and with comparison shots)

They also added sound effects to get surround sound. I'd really like to see a more true-to-what-aired DVD set of both GIJoe and Transformers. And they should do a R1 Visionaries set while they are at it!

This is true. But let me put it this way:

My seven-year-old son has watched all of Season One on Joost and loved it. He would be thrilled to see Season Two.

Owning Season One will make him excited for a day or two, but he's already seen them all.

Im hoping for this run, they do the same treatment they did with the Special edition of The Movie, with extea cut scenes or alternate clips, such as the commercial segments, and the special info clips from the 3rd season.

I would definatly be up for a re-release of TF at a cheaper rate. Joe, well as long as they finish this time.
