Which G.I.Joe vehicle do you like best from 1984?

1984.
Since the Mountain Howitzer is towable and similar to the A.S.P., HAL, Whirlwind etc., I gave it an option in this poll. I think the the Bivouac, Watch Tower, Mortar Defense Unit look "more battlestation" and they're less transportable.
Let us know which vehicle you like best and please explain why!

Sky Hawk. It and the ASP were the first two Joe toys that I had, and I love VTOLs.

Always did want a WHALE, though....

Had to go with the WHALE. It was the largest G.I.Joe vehicle to date, and dang cool. I remember when I showed it to a friend of mine at the time, he was stunned by its size.

The rear fan assembly was a pain in the neck, and far, far too fragile, but it was still a cool vehicle.

I have often wondered if there were early plans for it to be battery-operated. There was this inexplicable hatch on the underside of it that could have easily accommodated batteries, and that gear mechanism that turned the fans was a little more complex than it had to be for a push-button operation.

Somebody probably figured out that kids might thing it could ride in water, and that wouldn't really be a good idea... 8-O

Love the SHARC...never had one as a kid :shifty:

and neither did my brother...lol. But to me it was always Shipwreck's ride. Now I have one that's in great shape and I can say to my brother with immense pride, "Neener neener."

I had to go with the Slugger. It got such a workout in battle when I was a kid. I was so devastated when Daniel came over to play one day and broke the machine gun on mine. Next time I was at his house, I noticed he had a Slugger, and I took the machine gun from his and was going to take it home to replace mine. Even though he broke mine, I felt guilty for stealing his, so put it back before even leaving his room. He never knew I'd done it.

Even though I've never had a WHALE, I still had to vote for it. It just looks all kinds of awesome and I still really want to get one someday.

it was all kinds of awesome back then. the Depth charge drop, working propellers, missile launchers, launchable water skiff,.. it even comes with a Motorcycle, man!!!

Man tough year.

Slugger was the first vehicle I ever had, And the whale and the sharc were both childhood favs.

but I settled on the skyhawk. one of my long time favorites that i never had as a kid.

now if only they'd start hitting the shelves up here.

Best use of that mold, very beautiful in those desert colors combined with the cool scorpion decals = winner!

Skyhawk is a very close second. Just like the FANG, a simple thing, but with enough firepower for a nice one, two or three man mission.
