I don't know what you people are complaining about. Master Collector is as modern a company as you could ask for.

I sent my carrier pigeon in and got a confirmation teletype within a fortnight.

Now THAT'S service!

I don't know, it's not really hard to find/use a fax machine, they are not uncommon at all, and it is not too difficult to fill out the form and fax it in. Of course, I've had one for years. :-D

On the other hand, there really is no good reason not to have these online. While I have no idea how to do it, it really doesn't take too much more computer smarts than I have to set it up.

Yeah, but outside of state or government buildings and museums, where are you going to find a fax machine?

Pretty much any Kinko's, or UPS store. Many businesses have them too. So chances are if you work for a company that has offices, or know someone who has their own business, you generally have access to fax.

Of course, if you wanna grumble about tech, most computers can do it as well. Even though I have not set it up (because I have a fax machine) pretty much anyone with a scanner can do it over the internet. Heck, I even believe that Windows can do it over the internet as well, and has been able to for years! http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306550

Yeah it's not too hard to find a fax machine, but why should I have to?

If Master Collector would move into the 1990s people could just type their info into an online form, hit submit and be on their way.

What I'm saying is you can fax over most computers, without having a fax machine. (i.e., you can do it online.) Hence, no need to go in search of a fax machine.

I'm not arguing that there is really no good reason for not being able to just do this online, however.

You don't. Most computers can send a fax online. While it is not the same as a simple online registration (and I'm not arguing that there is a good reason not to have that!) it can be done online, which seems to be the crux of everyone's argument. The majority of people, that have computers, do not have to find a fax machine. Windows already allows you to do this, and has for several years.

And yes, I know its easier to gripe about not being able to find a fax machine, then simply enabling that function on your computer! :-D

UH Stad your still not getting it...........ITS A JOKE about how hard it is to find things. They aren't being serious. They are having fun making JOKES of how NOT up to date that MC is and how we could send our forms in....ie Smoke signals from on the Rocky Mtns, hieroglyphs, etc. We know how easy it is to find Faxes but WHY fax?

Oh, I definitely get the joke. My comments are more to the people that are and have been complaining (for years!) about having to use a fax, and not being able to do it online, when in fact, they can do it online, and have been able to for years. And besides, WHY NOT fax? Some people are uncomfortable putting their info online (not that a fax is any better!) When these guys got started in the mid-90's, fax was still the most common hi-tech method available. While they may not have kept up with more emerging tech methods, fax is hardly antiquated at this point either, even if it is no longer the dominant method businesses use.
