Argh damnit. This discussion brought to mind the movie making fun of how the Bradley was developed. I even want to say it had someone like Carey Elwes in it or something.
It did have him in it!

Kelsey Grammer, too. I saw it once years ago and thought the "Bradley" was a made up vehicle for the film. Imagine my surprise when I saw 21C and BBI versions of this thing on shelves and that it was indeed a real military vehicle after all.
Sadly, this story is very, very true (a bit exagerated though) and reflects how Army (and sister services) acquistion used to work. A lot has been fixed since, and many of our laws and rules stem from that (Live Fire Testing being the biggest one).
But the Bradely, despite what it was supposed to be, turned out OK, mainly thanks to fine Americans taking what they have got and adapting doctrine and tactics to fit the tools at hand.
It mounts a 25mm Bushmaster chaingun, good for targets out to 2500-3000 meters
A coax 7.62mm Machine gun for 1000-1200 meters
A pair of TOW II for targets in the 3750 meter range (max effective, not max) with another 7 rounds in the hull.
A very able legacy vehicle, that despite some quirks has served well over the years
