Great stories Dan. It is what it's all about. Very generous of you, and it's fun because you can see just from your way of telling it that you have gotten as big of a kick from this as Walker has (if that's possible).

Also, if he gets crap at school for owning them, isn't "my dad was a professional athlete" enough to trump most low level insults? lol.

yeah, "my dad can throw a ball 90 miles an hour" Do you want to see if your dad can dodge it?

LOL

This story got me to thinking for a long time a guy in our neighborhood hosted a huge "battle" every Saturday at his house. he'd set up a base on his porch and then we all take our toys to attack it. He used to put the mauler on the sidewalk and just let it go.

You gotta work on an outside battle, man!

Good point here Dan - make sure you still encourage the kid to get some sunlight.

That's what I call paying it forward. I know I can identify with Walker, and I'm sure there are plenty others who were like him as a kid; a good kid, though maybe not as popular and well liked as others, who escapes to his own little world through his toys.

Chief, I commend you for your act of kindness and for sharing it with us as an example for others. Giving is a wonderful feeling, and those situations are always win-win.
