Oh ok, so now someone is going to take my idea and charge more for it?
http://www.actionfiguredisplays.com/home.htmlWell anyway, I figure I'll make the post to say they're out there too. They want $20 for theirs, mine are $15. I don't like the way they have theirs put together. Eventually the adhesive will wear off.
I am new to this forum, but have been poking around reading threads for a year or so. I finally decided to join when I saw this thread. I have purchased a few Action Figure Displays from this company and have had them for over a year. I have to say that I believe some people in this thread are a little off the mark with these displays and have jumped the gun on being harsh.
To start, they are nice displays and are not cheap. They use Gatorboard which is sturdy and has not bowed or warped like MANY of the other displays I have had in the past. The adhesive they use for assembly is insane. It's defanitely meant to be perminent. In fact, on the first one I bought, I tried to take it apart a few months later and it ripped the liner of the Gatorboard. I’ve made my own for years and have to say that these are better, they don't look home-made at all. Plus buying these frees up a lot more of my time

.
As for competition, I’ve seen J-Man’s displays on several forums and in fact a fellow collector friend of mine owns one of the GI Joe displays. I think the dios displays are really cool and like them as well. The thing is, they are just totally different. For me, I collect larger figures mostly and the AFD displays work better. The idea for a display is NOT new, original, or yours. There have been others like Ulturama, Dida Displays, Actionscapes…etc. There is room for multiple companies. I agree with people in this thread that stated they admire anyone who turns a hobby into a business. From looking at their website and reading their bio, I can see that they have worked hard to turn their hobby into something. Obviously they’ve been at it for a while since they are on several websites and in a few toy magazines. I just think that your reaction was one of a defensive maneuver.
If anyone is interested in a different type of review, I found one here
http://www.poeghostal.com/2009/01/revie ... plays.htmlSo thanks for listening to my very first post. Not sure how much I’ll post in the future. I’m more of an observer. But sometimes I feel like responding. This time I did and I hope I haven’t offend anyone.
Happy Toy Collecting!
