Does anyone think with the movie coming up we'll see more GI Joe Crossbranding to hype up for the movie? What Kinds of stuff do you think we'll see? GI Spud, The long wanted GI Joe / Transformers Crossovers, Cobra Snakes and Ladders?

Personally, I would love a GI Joe version of Battleship, it astounds me that it hasnt been done before, Using classic Joe ships as stand ins for the traditional ships. I think GI Joe branded Nerf weapons would be big sellers as well.

I'm sorry, I only read half your post because Cobra Snakes and Ladders blew my mind! That's awesome.

I think we can guarantee a GI Joe Mr. Potato Head (I predict Potato Eyes. Cause, y'know, potatoes have eyes. Ooh, or Spudpentor. Or Taters Commander. Man, we need a whole field of these guys), since the spud's been selling his body to any big name Hasbro has. There have also been a load of cross-brand Risk, Monopoly, and Operation board games. Battleship's a good idea, smart.

I'm excited to see the inpouring of school supplies, costumes, and cross brand GI Joe merchandise. Given that a lot of Transformers merchandise was based on G1 designs when their movie came out (Optimash Prime and Softimus Prime are good examples), there should be something for every GI Joe fan to get excited about (even those that will inevitably turn this into a "The movie will suck, but..." thread).

Well, Scramble beat me to all the good Potato Head puns, so...

I'd honestly be surprised to see any G.I.Joe/TF crossovers, if for no other reason than TF will also have movie toys this year, I suspect the studios will have SOME say in that, and unless it's the same sutdio doing both movies (I honestly don't recall), I doubt they'd want to see that sort of cross-promotion. Conversely, the existence of the two movies in one year might be the catalyst for it to happen.

G.I.Joe versions of Battleship, Monopoly, and Risk are distinct possibilities, I would imagine, and those are the logical games for it to happen to. Battleship and Risk (and perhaps Stratego?) certainly fit the G.I.Joe world, and they'll do a Monopoly around just about anything these days.

I suspect Scramble's right about school supplies, Halloween costumes, etc. My biggest concern about it all, though, is that it'll all be MOVIE based, rather than on G.I.Joe's far more expansive original universe.

Really I don't know. The Transformer Potato head was before the movie, but the Indiana Jones one came out the year the new movie hit. If they do one, they'd probably be dumb and do a Duke based off the movie.

Transformers?G.I.Joe is something a lot of us have wanted for a while. I can't understand any reason they haven't done it yet, so I'm going to say I'd doubt Hasbro would do it even after the movie. If the movie actually does well they might, but I don't know.

It's been lots of things lacking for a long time and I kind of doubt that the movie will change anything. I really don't think they'll do a lot of the stuff we all think is a logical move. I don't understand it, and haven't for a while, but we'll see. I'll actually be surprised if they stray too far from the toyline. I mean I would do a ton of stuff, but Hasbro hasn't seemed to want to go that far with G.I.Joe these days for some reason. I was shocked when they did the Combat Heroes.

something tells me they might licence BOTH the movie and original versions, as their are already mrechandice licenses out, and with the movie's exposure, wether its popular or it flops. people who already hold the licences will put out more product, from G.I.joe napkins, to Yo joe cola, to G.i.Deoderant!

it also means the level of cheap knockoffs may jump, and will start seeing those cheap plastic bootleg figures in the dollar stores again...

I love the Potato Head concept, or rather my wife does.
She is a Potato head freak! For Halloween decorations in the house she sets up 8-10 spuds in coustume (Darth, R3D2, TF Optimus, as well as pirates, fairy godmothers, adn more)

I am stoked about the idea of a Joe Tater!
