The ARAH Cobra Soldier originally has a sniper rifle, the Dragunov. I've been thinking about replacing them.
What other gun would really fit this trooper? (from G.I.Joe, other toylines, Marauder or whatever?)

I thought the Rifle Range Unit M16 or M16 + bajonet could work.

Mine are outfitted with Marauder's AK-47 with the wooden stock.

Marauder has them listed as SWAT weapons, but they make two MP-5 variants. These are guns used by the bad guys in the first Die Hard movie. There are other MP-5 variants that came with bbi figures, Intoyz figures, and Kubrick Special forces.

As stated above, Marauder makes several AK variants as well, which are used by numerous forces (including terroists) around the world.

The M-16 is kind of synonymous with the US military. I'd only stock Cobra forces with them if the cell/unit was supposed to be rogue/ex US military (kind of like in Die Hard 2.) But that's me.

And why does my mind keep going back to Die Hard movies at the moment? :shifty:

I use Marauder's NVRs for my Vipers and Troopers. I just love that gun.

I think the Marauder AK-47 w/ wood stock, like Redmao mentioned would be your best bet. That's what I'd use for the ARAH figs if it was me anyway. I use the AK-47 w/ removable clip for my 25th Troopers because I like the modern look with the modern figure. But for the vintage stuff go with the wood stock. They are a smidge smaller than the newer model too so they will look better with the smaller ARAH figure.

MJ - where's my kickback for the plug? ;-)

My Blue Shirts are almost all outfitted with this weapon as well. As are my Vipers that don't have the original Viper Rifle.

Actually the MP-5 or UMP is a good pick as during the Cobra Civil War in the Marvel Run you can see many blue shirt Cobras using these in defense of the Cobra Citadel.

My officer has the RPK PKM. My regular trooper has a UMP, mostly because I had a spare one. My paratrooper turned CLAW pilot will be receiving Marauder's mini MP5.

I do, but I've had a hard time finding many figures who can actually hold it. Thanks in part to Hasbro's bad hand molds (for GI Joe figures) and an oddly thick pistol grip on the rifle.

The handle is the only reason I don't have tons of this gun.
The hands are the main reason I don't have tons of troops to arm with the rifles.

I use a bit of Dollhouse wax to keep mine in place, or jellybands. Anybody who wants to trade Cartoon rifles for MJ AK-47's PM me!
