For many years I have been inputting my various filecards onto a laptop computer.

This past June the laptop became unoperable and for a long time I was pretty devastated to think all that hard creative work was lost.

Since it was a work computer my Mother used at home (I was allowed to use it within reason), it hit hard because some of the filecards I had worked on were 99% finished.

There was also a number of characters I hadn't written down onto the index cards I have, only had some basic 'first third' filecard info.

My Mother just got home from work, and without a word of explanation, sat down at the new laptop and plugged in a flashdrive.

I just looked up what she was working on and there was ALL of my custom filecards!!!!!!!!

Twenty-Three pages of data, recovered!!!!!!!!!!

I have a couple of flashdrives specifically set aside to have back-up upon back-up now.


I could just cry...
