The Fwoosh has gotten in on the act on the Q&A's...
http://www.thefwoosh.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1205&Itemid=1

Quote:
1. It seems some of the more popular Joes have been re-released recently. What plans do you have to keep re-releasing older, harder to find figures in upcoming waves?

We are constantly striving to find the right mix of getting new figures out to shelf while popping in harder to find figures for the fans. You will continue to see some of the earlier 25th figures in 2009.

2. Which unique characters that come with vehicles may get a single card release, or maybe a two pack release?

Usually characters are chosen for vehicle sets because they are not strong enough to stand alone, but do well with the vehicles. Thus, no plans for releasing the vehicle drivers as single packs.

3. Are all orders that met the deadline for Doc going to be filled? What plans are there for the next mail away figure?

As of today, we have enough figures to fill all the orders. We want to keep the mail away special and will not be doing one in 2009, but will look at 2010 and beyond.

4. The upcoming 5 packs of Joe and Cobra figures seem to have fixed all the problems that people had with the original releases. What other figures that fans have had problems with may be up for an updated fix?

The Hall of Heroes figures are the fan favorites that we were able to give upgrades and updates to. You will love them!

5. Any plans for playsets or maybe a "build a scene" pack in with new 2 packs
in any future plans?

There are no plans for build-a-scenes or playsets prior to movie.

I guess this means no single carded Grand Slam or Clutch. I'd love them with these pics:

y'know I've read a few Q&A's around the web, but this one seems like it's chalk full of info/insight, the recent Q&A us Canadians got from Hasbro was so bleak and dismal with the usual "we'll get back to you on that".

1. Earlier 25th figures? As in figures from the early series of G.I. Joe that didn't get a 25th remake as yet? Airtight! Footloose! Recondo (confirmed already I think)! I'm stoked!

2. No plans for vehicle drivers? Oh well, que the Wild Bill repaints! By the time this is over Wild Bill would be specialized in the entire Joe motor-pool, airforce, and naval assault, which isn't a stretch from the cartoon where they all could drive/fly/ride everything.

3. No mail-away in 2009 - I don't mind, it's not like it's being opened to Canada anyways.

4. Talk about avoiding the question! If they've "fixed" the fan favourites, here's hoping for Viper's fixed wrists!

5. No Terrordrome :( ...until the movie comes out, then we're going to see them reuse old Star Wars playsets to make em more "Joe" - Cobra Mountain anyone?

I read that more as them referring to "figures from earlier waves in the 25a line" that are / were hard to find.

Such as the re-released Storm Shadow, Snake Eyes, Flint, Beachhead, and Firefly figures from the first few waves.

I could be wrong though.

That was how I read it too. Especially since this portion was in the question, "harder to find figures in upcoming waves". That doesn't sound like old favorites.

No, I think you read that correctly. The question specifically asked about re-released figures, and they specifically answered earlier 25th figures as opposed to earlier figures done in 25th style.

geez peeps, that's why I asked it as a question mark  I know that's not Hasbro was saying, I read it the same way as you guys did. But a rabbit can dream of a 25th Footloose and Airtight can't he?

You mean the ones in the new IG/Viper packs right?

Yes and no... Does he have those odd bent wrists still? No. Does he have the fixed version from that new 5 pack? No. He has different hands altogether - http://www.cooltoyreview.com/photo.asp?image=http://www.cooltoyreview.com/2008/GIJOE-ConquestX30_2.jpg&text=

Are you sure? It looks to me like they painted the whole lower arm.

Once again Hasbro lies. What about Deep six in the comic pack? But now that I type it , they did say single packs, so now I just look like an ass.
