Good point, but there are 2 types of missiles, guided and unguided. Does the Desert Fox BP state that they are guided? Most ground fired guide missiles are tube fired, as from a launcher of some sort. Missiles fired from an aircraft are normally always guided and they drop away from the aircraft before firing. I don't think that would be a good idea on a land base vehicle for the missile to drop off the vehicle like that, as if you have a longer delay in firing the missile could strike the ground. Also when firing a rocket or missile from a ground position you want to contain/redirect the back blast as much as possible to minimize damage of surroundings (vehicle and/or personnel). Most of the Joe vehicles are totally far out there in this reguard to mounting rockets and missiles anywhere on the vehicle they could or wanted. I know if I was in the Desert Fox I wouldn't want to be near that missile when fired :-P. Driver and co-driver would have it the worst, being there is no doors or windshield :-P.

True. Usually in the military rockets refer to unguided missiles and missiles are guided, which is why I assumed they were guided.

The missile dropping away from a plane is a moot point, I was simply saying that something fired from a fixed point can still be aimed.

Along those lines that's like ...

GM & Ford - American

or

Constantine & Pizza - Italian
vs
Charles Manson & SPAM - American

Which is better? :whistling:

Well, this is purely an opinion, but Fiat ruined the looks of Ferarri (compared to the old style), so these two as an example don't mean anything to me. I also haven't heard anything special about Fiat itself. Touche on the Ford and GM, though. After working on them, there's no way I'll ever buy a GM product.

You got me on Constantine vs. Manson as well, but dude, I know you didn't just diss Spam! That's like one of the greatest culinary creations ever. Right up there with Twinkies and the Big Mac. :rotfl:

It can only be aimed with the positioning of the whole unit (vehicle or whatever it's attached too), unless it's guided of some sort. That is the reason gun mounts pivot, as it's hard to move a vehicle to hit your target with fixed weapons.

Right, that's what I meant. I just forgot to put in guided. ;)
