I know I'll be the only one to say this, but I would have to say IMHO the Thunderwing is my favorite ever Joe toy. I mean you look through the engines and you see what a pilot sees on his HUD (Heads Up Display) and you switch from bombs to missles and the hud changes so that you can see what you are shooting at.

It can tell if you are banking left, right, in a climb or decent.

Like I said, I know I'll be the only one, but MAN I love that thing.

Nope, I'm going to chime in and add realistic pilot uniform helmet. But yeah, from prototype without that stuff added in to it, it could have been cooler. Kudos to them for blending that in so well though.

Since all the obvious nominations have been made, as well as my favorites (Rolling Thunder, Hiss II, etc), I am going to nominate the GENERAL.

I recently got my first one, this thing is awesome! Heli landing pad, multiple gun turrets, missiles, GIANT CANNON and a Command Center. It carries plenty of troops and can provide hours of entertainment on its own. Plus it came with a Locust as an added bonus.

I really don't know that I could narrow a list down to one single Vehicle/'Playset

All the ones previously listed are great choices...but you're missing out on the Tomahawk.

Tomahawk is a great joe vehicle because it can serve on any number of missions and play multiple roles. It's great as a transport vehicle...dropping off joes, or evacing them from a Hot LZ. It's a gunship...providing a nimble, tatictical, air-supperiority platform. Even totaly stripped and half burried in the sand and burned...it's still a great play setting ...very likely a place for joes to make a last stand against Cobras or other enemies.

Good call on the tomahawk. If anything, the side guns could have been done better on it. Those leave a little to be desired quality/sizewise. But yeah, just landing it at an angle always looks cool.

I'm gonna go with the original '83 HQ. That base went through every conceivable play-scenerio as a kid. There's car-bays for repairs, a stockade, comm-center. The only thing missing is an infirmary and briefing room. The base looks even more fleshed out with mini-playsets like FLAK cannons, Watch Tower, Air-Defense, and Checkpoint-Alpha. There's a lot of good childhood memories attached to that set, and the best part was my parents got it on close-out for $20 :-D

The RHINO.

Overall playability, awesome design, the level of figures it holds, versatility, utility, and just that stupidly cool slow-rise feature on the helicopter blows me away...
