Even worse: shortly after the movies came out, people were reminded that the crystal skulls are in fact man-made. Can't say that about the ark, the grail, or those heebie jeebie stones in the second movie! :D

Oh, and a brody figure would suck and be boring.

What? More boring than a figure of a man with a monkey who got something like 30 seconds of screen time? I take it that you would also like a figure of teh guy carrying the ice-cream maker from Cloud City in ESB? ;-)

Honestly, the only reason I would want a Brody figure other than fodder would be so I could make my Dr. Henry Jones figure say "Marcush Brodee?" over and over and over in my head.

Actually, no. The Temple of Doom wave was the fourth assortment. Toht was to be in the fifth.

Yes the emphasis was on the new movie, but there were some odd choices in the Raiders wave which led to some peg warmers. It would have been much better having a Marion in white dress single carded, with the Cairo market version packed with the assassin. Satipo packed with the temple pitfall, Ceremony Belloq packed with the Ark, Tanis Belloq single carded, Toht instead of the Monkey guy, desert garb Indy packed with a map room dio (instead of teh German and motorbike which could have been released with the Last Crusade wave). Could have even had white suit Sallah and a camel and marcus Brody with horse as deluxe packs for TLC, or just as a two-pack. Also no Russian soldier two packs for KotCS. Could have also had the ToD guard packed with a mine car, and a Maharajah/Chatter Lal 2 pack.

Whoops, okay, guess I can't count too well. You have a point about some of the figure choices, but who knows how those determinations are made? Honestly the strangest one to me was the 12" Cairo Swordsman. I mean -- what? Okay, it was a funny bit in the first movie. Guy waves his sword around and Indy just shoots the guy, but is that worth a TWELVE-INCH figure!???!

The chances for a fifth Indy film are pretty high. Lucas and Spielberg an in love with LeBeauf and hell bent on using him in their projects, although I'm not crazy about him taking the "mantle" of Indy, If it got us more figures from Raiders I'd be up for it. Also to be fair to LeBeauf he wasn't the worst part of that film...

DVD sales are going to be pretty high I think so I'd expect that defunct Raiders wave in a couple of years.

AAAAACCCCCCKKKKKK! Okay, Shia wasn't as annoying in the movie as I thought he was going to be, but I thought he was going to be absolutely insufferable, so almost anything would've been a step up. He was -- tolerable. I do NOT want to see him taking over for Harrison Ford. There's a reason Indy took his hat back in the last scene. A movie who's focus is on Mutt Williams would be the death of the franchise in my opinion.

He is not taking over for Harrison Ford.

6. At the end of 'Crystal Skull,' Indy ALMOST passes his fedora and thus the torch to Mutt. Are there any plans for the franchise to go that way, with Shia LaBeouf taking over the mantle?

No, that's never been [the idea]. As George has famously said, we'd have to call it 'Mutt Jones: The Search for Elvis.' [Laughs.] I think it just doesn't work that way. And there's definitely a distinction between passing the fedora and someone picking it up

I think Hasbro is way off base by saying we as the consumers didn't buy what they put on the shelves.

I only manged to pick up the LC figures in the last month and a half.

All I have seen on the shelves is mostly the Mutt figures, which makes me wonder if the factory was sending out all Mutt case assortments.

What did I buy?

-2 of the German Soldier 2packs (headswapped one set)
-German Soldier single pack
-Belloq
-Monkey Man
-Sallah
-Cairo Swordsman
-2 Irina Spalko (head swapped a ROTS Mon Mothma head onto one)
-Cemetary Warrior
-Ugha Warrior
-Colonel Dovchenko
-16x Russian Soldiers
-Jungle Cutter
-2 Young Indy (headswapped one head onto a new sculpt Cover Girl torso and reversed the scarf to become a bandanna for a female 'Nok)
-Vogel
-Elsa
-Henry Jones
-Grail Knight

I'd love to get a few more Elsa, Vogel, another Cemetary Warrior, a few more Ughas, and another 4 Russian Soldiers.

I thought about getting another Henry Jones figure to headswap a KOTOS Indy head so I'd have a Professor Indy figure and wanted a US Army Dovchenko.

I don't have a single Indy figure. Sure I've passed on some things. I guess I just figured there would be plenty of Mutts to be found later on. :rotfl:

It is just a shame that the whole IJ line had so much potential. Maybe we'll see some of the molds show up in the Star Wars line. I know I'm gonna have second thoughts the next time I see a new Hasbro produced line. Maybe they should state right on the package, "Buy them now before we cancel this line!"

I know from the last assortment sent at KB, it was a display case. There was 6 sections that held 3 figures each. There was 2 each of young Indy, Henry, and machine gun Indy. That's 6 out of the 18. The others were 1 each of Russian soldier, Colonel Dovchenko, Belloq, Monkey Man, and the rest were Mutt. 4 of the jacket version and 4 t-shirt version.

I guess Hasbro had the dumb idea that they can play off Transformers to sell his figure along with the Indy popularity. The movie didn't do that well however and Shia is being pushed into too many movies for people to really back him.

*thinks*

With an original projected on-shelf date of January 15, and the announcement coming only days ago that the line is now done, I've got to believe that these figures have already been tooled up...which would make Hasbro's decision to do nothing with them crazy. Anyone have a good idea of current industry lead-times for tooling and getting the product shipped over from China?

From what I gather it's 3 to 4 months for a production to shelf turn around. If those are in the stage of being produced, I'd figure to keep an eye out Big Lots and such. I figure about mid-November to early December we'll be seeing a lot of the figures "hard to find" will be showing up at the discount stores.

Well we know definitely that the Toht figure has already had a production run: SDCC Cobra Commander. If the others were prototypes that they had no intention of producing, or that they couldn't fir the parts into any other line, then they did not necessarily get to the tooling stage.

Well okay I guess it's all my fault then.

Hasbro turned me into an articulation junky and now it's just too darn hard for me to buy any sort of T-crotch figure so blame me if anything bad happens to those DC figures as well. Compared to the Joe figures the Indie figures just came off as rather cheap looking so I had to pass on everything but the Russians and then that was only because I figured that was as close as I'd get to a 25th Oktober Guard.

The fourth film, well I feel like the South Park episode on that one. After three movies of really cool concepts like a magical box that melts Nazi faces off they go uber lame of aliens. I mean why can't a native culture get something cool and magical?

I used to be a big fan of Indie, heck I was even a fan of the Young Indiana Jones series, but between the toys being sub-par to other Hasbro lines and the last film just ripping out all the cool, I'm just sort of done with Indie until the bad feelings can heal over.

Hadn't seen it mentioned anywhere else, but I opened my Mola Ram figure and the insert in it mentions the extension of the crystal skeleton promotion through january 2009
