Got my DVD sets today I'm about 80% impressed

Pyramind of Darkness
Cobra Commander: With a new hood head. Kinda long (his head) an okay figure but nothing thrilling.

Major Bludd: I like the new torso but the paint job is lacking. Sure the early one used Zartan's body but they did a good job painting details. Worst is his head. I would preferred painted skin. His eyes are off centered, eye brow painted on too heavily. His helmet was glued on too low on his head. The parts and colors are better but it the prior one was made better and will still be my default Bludd.

Quick Kick: A tad too orange. Eyes off center.

Snake Eyes: Okay. Head and feet are too flat/smooth.

Arise Serpentor Arise
Bat: With a red head and missile launcher. Another Bat is good. It lacks the black painted details. Still a good figure but just not as good as the single pack bat.

Serpentor: Never like the character but at least he has the correct appearance now. Some of his new outfit is glued on.

Dusty: One of my favorite characters and the best out of this pack. His torso is made out of 3 sections instead of 2. I think he is all new parts. His torso would have been good for Falcon, Foot Loose, Recondo. If Dusty is ever avaliable in single packs I'd buy 10 of them. He'll make great custom fodder. His eyes seem off centered while his helmet is on. Take his helmet off and he looks much better. I don't like the dark brown helmet fabric. Tempted to cut it off. He lacks his back pack straps. "Nothing" is holding his pack on. I replaced it with a PTE pack. Which gave him the proper straps. Dusty's Famas is looks bland next to Marauders but the his fits better in his hands.

Montezuma's Skeleton: Does this count as a figure? More like a prop too me.

3 Figures, dvd and 2 props. Pyramind of Darkness set is the best for it's value. Arise Serpentor Arises got Dusty an excellent figure. One warning. There is nothing holding in the figure stands in the back of the package you can turn the package around and rip them out without openning the box. If you see these set in person make sure no one pulled anything out.

If I may ask three questions:

Major Bludd -- Speaking as someone who has long DESPISED painted skin on figures regardless of the format (and sometimes the concept), may I ask why that would've been preferable here?

B.A.T. - When you say it has no "black painted details", I assume you're referring to the black wash over the silver details on the neck and arms? (I'd consider that an improvement).

Montezuma's Skeleton - Does this thing have any articulation at all?

I find the plastic colored skin tends to look waxy. Either very orange or white in color.

Yes I'm referring to the black wash over the bats.

Skeleton's got a stiff/flimsy ball waist, neck and swivel elbows. Seems more like a prop too me.

Ah well, each to their own. I've found that all it takes is one generally minor paint glitch to give someone what looks like a horrible skin condition.

Hmm, thanks for the word on the B.A.T. Actually, I'd regard that as an improvement. The single-carded B.A.T. was interesting, but those black-washed arms made it look like Hasbro had farmed out the arms to McFarlane or something.

And frankly that's more articulation on the skeleton thing than the pictures made it look like it had.

Wholeheartedly agreed. I liked the BAT ok, but couldn't tell why it didn't push that "vintage awesomeness button". Only when I saw the clean BAT arms in the DVD pack did I realize...oh yeah, its that blackwash!
