With the upcoming SPECIALIST TRAKKER figure, and the notation on the file card that V.E.N.O.M. is part of COBRA, I was considering asking the question of Hasbro in their next "Q & A" session whether there was any chance in the world of getting a Miles Mayhem figure out of them. But it's in the back of my head that this question has ALREADY been asked (with an unfortunately negative answer), but I just can't recall precisely.

If it has been asked, can someone point me in the right direction? If it hasn't been asked, I'd like to know that, too, so I can do the honors... :-D

Hasbro: No. Matt Trakker was a one shot tribute. Nothing else is on the plan.

There is your answer. It was a one shot tribute.

I can't be the only one taking that answer with a grain of salt.

Dang it, I was afraid of that, and yeah, I now remember reading that.

Still, I'd like to see that "grain of salt" myself, especially given the degree to which Trakker's file card goes out of its way to mention V.E.N.O.M. as a division of Cobra.

They didn't do that with Dr. X when they made that Action Man figure in the Night Force assortment... Not to that degree, anyway... :shifty:

Just wanted to point out Hasbro said the exact same thing with the Big Milenium Falcon from over the summer, in fact they said NEVER, EVER, EVER a month before it was due to be released even though proto pics were all over the place. The next week it was revealed as a "Suprize." So you really can't tell one way or the other.

Not to mention how we were told at the Atlanta con that there would be no Tiger Force or Python Patrol. :shifty:

LOL,

I've already seen a pretty cool miles custom, from the SG, but one from hasbro would make a good alt figure, :)

I was just thinking the same thing.

"Nothing else planned" or "Not at this time" is all corporate speak for "If it goes over well we may or may not revisit this idea in the future." It isn't a definite "No, never, not going to happen." Which we have learned is still not a definite "No".

Yea that's sort of what I'm thinking as well. At some point in the search for ideas they might want to take another stab at the franchise so they could just use the excuse of well that was a tribute and this is the line.

Not going to say it will happen but I can see them keeping as many options open as they can considering the way they catch it from fans when they say something stupid like Transformers Classics is dead and we will never do any of those figures again so that's why the seekers are con exclusives.

Early on in the 25th line they commented that the Eel and the Snow Serpent weren't in the cards either.

Not that anyone believed that, but that was their official position.

The Dr. X thing a sticking point for the argument against Mayhem though... maybe Action Man in the Night Force set really was the only AM figure planned and so that's how it really panned out. But at the time I expected his arch rival would show up and then never did. That always kinda struck me as being more of an unfinished idea, like the plan for X just fell by the wayside as opposed to him never having been considered.

When I was at the Hasbro booth on Sunday at SDCC, Seth Green stopped in, saw Matt Tracker (after I pointed it out to him) and asked about Miles Mayhem. He was told the same thing we were, no plans, Tracker's a one time deal, etc. So I honestly do think this is a one time deal. The Tiger Force/Python Patrol mentions don't count because come on, did you really expect them to not put a few more of those out? Matt Tracker was way out of left field and probably only got through so they could keep the trademark on the name. So contrary to what we've seen and heard so far about past "never gonna happens", I'd say its safe to say this one actually isn't.
