I never see this on ebay every now and then I see parts, is it really rare? Or is it just so cool no one is selling one? Or was it just a POS and most of them have fallen apart?

I wouldn't go so far as calling it a POS but it had a ton of easily lost pieces. The one I have is little more than a shell and cockpit canopies that are broken and one of the axles is broken. And the wheels squeal like mouse being raped by a horse. OK maybe it is a POS but its one helluva interesting POS and does look cool.

POS? No. It was one of the more unusual designs for vehicles (and in its time period, it was hardly alone in THAT aspect, but it worked better than most), but I think one factor was that it had a lot of moving parts, and as cited, perhaps easily lost ones. I'm not even sure my own is entirely intact, and all it's ever really done is been parked in a room or a closet for its entire existence. :-/

Additionally, while I have no production statistics, the General was the first vehicle in several years, really since the Flagg/Terror-Drome/Defiant days, to do a vehicle of rather considerable size, and at a time when such items were pretty unusual for any toy line. It might have had fairly low production numbers, relatively speaking.

I LOVE the General. I had to get rid of mine due to space, but it's an absolutely great vehicle loaded with features that don't get in the way of play value. The big, big problem with it is the main shell, though. It may as well be made of spun sugar. The wheel axles snap if you look at them, as do most of the tabs on the thing. Oh, and it's light gray/white, so it yellows easily, too.

Thanks guys, I want one but I'm sure it'll be a pain to find and then a bigger pain to complete

I have to agree with the 'trying to complete' part. I'm still hunting for a pair of the black cockpit covers myself.
