Post subject: Do all the figures have hands that can't hold their weapons?

I got started on 25A figures only last week. The first figures I bought were the Senior Ranking Officers Cobra Commander, Cobra Officer, Cobra Trooper 3-pack at TRU. Upon opening the package, I noticed that these figures' hands are molded to hold their weapons only in the pose in which they appear in the package, and even then can only do so with the aid of rubber bands. They cannot hold their weapons otherwise. I was shocked. I've never heard of a soldier who cannot hold his weapon!

Are all 25A figures like this?

Not all of them. Some hold them rather well. Others need to have their hands heated with hot water and closed a bit as well as the trigger finger separated with an X-acto knife. Roadblock's hands are a lost cause though :-| They definitely need to use harder plastic on the hands like Star Wars figures though.

I've never had a problem getting the Cobra Officer/Trooper mold to hold weapons. Only time I had a problem with CC, was when I had it holding a different gun with an oversized handle on it.

Scarlett is the one I've never been able to get to hold her weapons.

I have two and all 6 figures are the same way.

I opened Snow Serpent and the accs snapped right into place, just like the old ones.

Are you saying the Cobra Trooper and Officer should be like that? They're not even close. The thumb and forefinger are so far apart, there is room for two guns in there. I guess these were figures designed to look good in the package. Too bad, I was planning to buy a lot more.

Have you tried what Darko said and heat the hands in some hot water and close them a little more and then put them in some cold water to hold the pose? I haven't got this pack but the figs I get are just fine with the exception of Scarlett and Roadblock.

Sounds to me like they got deformed in the package. Like has already been suggested, put the hands in some hot water, rebend them, and hold them that way while they cool.

I hate the soldier hands and I hate Storm Shadow's hands. I find they are so useless for holding any weapon. Say what you will about Duke hands, Duke can hold his weapons.

Actually, I don't think there was any damage from packaging because I have a few of these and they're all the same. I will try the suggestion, but it's a major disappointment that such a procedure would have to be implemented just so that a toy is usable.

I checked yojoe's "All Geared Up" feature, and noticed how they had to position the gun for the figure to be able to hold it.

It's also like that for all versions of this mold.
