Keelhaul was the selection made, it was tough to pick one but Keelhaul has the edge over the others due to the accessory he came packaged with.

Quick Kick.
He was more "legendary" to me back then than Snake Eyes and he looked more martial arts, something that I started to have this thing for in those days. His mold reminded me of Bruce Lee and Bolo Yeung who both appeared in quite some movies bare footed, wearing pyjama pants and with a bare torso. His filecard front drawing is one of the best and most dynamic of all figures. Quick Kick being a former stunt man, martial artist and a man of silent weapons made him my favorite.
2nd place is shared by Alpine, Barbeque and Dusty, all figures with specialties which hadn't appeared by then and their outfits and accessoires really made that figure + specialty.

Lady Jaye for me.I finally found this figure in December of '85,and I still have her! :-D

I think the mold was excellent for it's time for a femme-type Joe,but her personality in both comic and 'toon are what sold me on her.Lady Jaye is still my favorite Joe to this day.

5 votes less then the Cobra poll from 1985. Maybe those people will vote, but so far Flint is number one with 2 votes ahead of Snake Eyes.

Snake-Eyes. Great sculpt, kick-ass figure, wicked sword and Timber. Perfection.

Back in 85 it was Footloose for me. My brother was in the Army then and he got me Footloose and sent it to me. Up to that point I always saw Ripcord as my brother (he was airborne at the time though he hated HALO jumping so when he saw Footloose he said that is more me) Also I just like his look and gear. Though everyone on the list is up there. I really loved the poster of all the Joes with their fists in the air, I had that on my wall for years.

It's always hard for me to choose just one favorite Joe or Cobra as my original collection was really small, thought it's much bigger now. Flint to me was the ultimate cool cat in terms of a figure, even thought I did not get his original figure til 20 years later.

His look just screams iconic to me with the beret, shotgun shell holders, sleeves rolled up,and the great camo pattern on his pants. Also I remember from th watching the cartoons I liked how he was often leading missions out in front and it did not hurt that Lady Jaye was often by his side. :-D

Barbecue also holds a soft spot for me since he is a firefighter, which since childhood I have dreamed of becoming. His mold like Flint's always stood out to me, I liked how his uniform is more the like king airport firefighters use rather than the standerd "bunker gear" you see all time in your home town. Also his file card really makes sound like the kind of friend I would have.
