 Post subject: Nemesis Immortal question(s)

Okay, so I got the comic set with Nemesis Immortal because, figure format notwithstanding, he was CERTAINLY an overall improvement appearance-wise over the original.

However -- the big lug doesn't want to stand up quite straight. He leans to one side at the mid-torso point, and I cannot adjust him. Poor devil looks like he needs a chiropractor. Anybody else's like this?

Which brings me to point 2. I don't really understand the assembly structure of these 25th-style figures. I can see there isn't a backscrew, so I doubt that he can be diassembled without doing some serious cutting open, which I'd just as soon not do, and I imagine that's not even a guarantee that I could do anything to fix this matter. However, I am open to explanations/suggestions. :-D

Mine stands up perfectly straight. You probably should check that you have pushed sidways on the uper torso.

If it really is broken you can all wasy smack him with a hammer over a wodden block and then glue him back together.

Tried that first suggestion. Torso doesn't seem to want to move sideways, just rotates.

I'd prefer not to use the hammer option... 8-O

The Serpentor fig Nemmy's built off had the 'kinked to the side' thing going on as well. I'm thinking the Serpy mold was one of the first ones they tried to incorporate the lateral movement to the moob joint, and it's really tight. I assure you, tho, that if you push him with enough oomph and a slightly arcing motion, he'll get straight for ya.




/Why no, I don't think there's any comment I've made that could be hilarious if taken out of context. Not at all.

There is a pin in there similar to the ones in the old school Joe shoulders that's a cylinder with a large flat head on it to keep the upper torso connected. It's just got a hinge on the opposite side for the ab crunch movement. As mentioned above, you should be able to re-align him with a little force. Maybe spin him and bend him forward and back a few times to loosen up the joint.

Mine stands up straight (weak ankles not withstanding) but I've had one or two other figs where the lateral movementin the torso joint was stuck. I had to force them, and it took a good deal of force. They cracked, like I'd just broken the thing, but then they were fine.

Okay, FINALLY got him to move. Had to force him a LOT more than I was comfortable with, and was seriously expecting to hear a *snap* and have half of him drop to the floor, but at least he's standing straight now.

My father had chronic back problems, so maybe I'm just sort of sensitive to this type of thing...

I've had this trouble as well as tight joints (knee, ankle, elbow) -- pretty much why I don't dig these like RAH.

I prefer tight articulation points to loose ones (I have a WWE Build n Brawl CM Punk here that's so loose he might as well be a marionette), but my concern here was not entirely understanding how the figure was built and intended to move.

RAH is not immune to loose or tight joints, but at least in most cases there I can do something about it.
