J_Man mentioned in another thread cutting off a figure's hand and replacing it with a needle. That reminded me of a childhood "custom". My HEAT Viper lost its thumb, so I slid on the head from a dart. That's a toy that can take an eye out. Similar, when Stretcher lost his thumb, I replaced it with a beaded chain from a bath plug.

Anyone else have memories of making dangerous additions to their Joes?

Yeah I can't recall how I did it, but I remember cutting a straight razor and melting it onto a Snake Eyes sword. One of my extras I had gotten. My dad has always had a woodwork shop and I recall locking the blade into a clamp and I think I used wirecutters to snip it. I know I put a shirt over it as I cut, that's something I learned way back. Not really to protect myself, hehe, but it was so I didn't have any piece go missing. I don't even know what I did with that sword.

I have a Catwoman from Batman Returns that I made her claws out of needles. I followed the design from the movie directly and just went for that little something extra, hehe.

Of course that's not mentioning all the countless dart guns that I stuck needles on the end of the dart, hehe. Yeah I had some violence going on with my toys. I never used any of it to shoot at anyone, poke anyone, or anything like that.

I used to use those three-pronged fishhooks as Joe grappling hooks. But after stepping on a couple of them that got entangled in the shag carpet, I learned to snip off the pointy ends & barbs before playing with them ;)

Used shiny little picture nails for removable claws on a Wolverine once.
