Been out to a fair number of toy stores/departments twice this week. The results have been -- mixed.

The Wal-Mart nearest me is really stinking up the place. No sign of the Jungle Master (revised uniform) Power Rangers despite the fact that another Wal-Mart and the TRU has had them. I wasn't able to buy the whole lot at once, so I'm sort of gradually having to do this. They've had a second HALO shipment, but little else of any measureable interest.

A Wal-Mart that is NOT generally known for a decent toy section has been producing quite a bit lately. They got in the FORCE UNLEASHED Star Wars sets (Darth with Incinerator Troopers, Palpatine with Shadow Troopers), which blew out of the store pretty quick. This Wal-Mart, conversely, appears to carry no HALO.

The two Targets readily accessible to me (lacking a car and being dependent on the bus system) have been absolute crap. One isn't even worth talking about. The other one -- minimal DC Infinite Heroes (WHERE THE HECK IS BLACK ADAM ALREADY?!), and absolutely NO sign of DC Universe waves 2 or 3 (this is getting SERIOUSLY annoying), and no sign of their Marvel Legends exclusive set, either (I WANT SPIRAL!)

Oddly, a local acquaintence has told me that FRY'S GROCERY STORES, of all places, have been stocking DC Universe 6" figures -- the second assortment! Is THIS what Mattel meant when they said there's be another round of this assortment out!? YEESH! Says he found everybody but Harley, which apparently someone beat him to. I checked the one Fry's I can get to easily, and while there was no sign of DCUC -- not even shelf tags, the toy department on the whole was definitely above average for a grocery store. Got a bad feeling I punted this one already. :-(

Checked out a Big Lots today -- was anyone else aware of a 12" Marvel Legends Icons MAGNETO figure!? This from Hasbro. It wasn't too bad, but the arms were awfully thin, and the helmet too big (clearly removable). It wasn't price-marked.

I will say that there's a "World Peacekeepers" Lookout Tower in there for about ten bucks that actually looks more impressive than the similar unit from G.I.Joe from sone years ago. Granted, it's significantly larger, as well. But overall the design looked excellent. May have to consider that.

So, a mixed week. Saw some cool stuff, but the lack of DC -- and for that matter, Marvel Legends -- is starting to seriously annoy me. And concern me.

Kroger's grocery stores here in Illinois have had DCUC series 1 for months now, but I've seen no sign of series 2, 3, or the recently spotted series 4. Yep, series 4 was spotted today according to TNI. And here I am with my total of three figures that I could find from series 2 and 3...
