Meh, nothing exciting for me there. I just can't get into this line with it's horrid articulation. If they'd just give the figures a chest joint and better hips I'd be a completionist. As is I'm left cold.

That chest joint is the most horrid thing I have ever seen, its the exact reason I don't get further behind the 25th figures, its distracting, throws off the estetics of the figures and is very unrealistic (How many people actually turn like that). A few figures have been able to mask it very well (Destro, Storm Shadow, Cobra commander) but for the most part it really takes away from potentally great figures (ie Duke, Stalker, Rock N Roll, Shipwreck all could have been super with waist rather than chest articulation).

The Indy line actually proves the point iwth this, the lines of the bodies are more uniform and esteticly pleasing, There is no "Bump" in the mid torso that disrupts the eyeline. As with most figures the articulation is at the waist where there is a seem anyway from the paints to shirt so it is semi ntaural looking and again doesn't disrupt the overall figure.

On hips, well show me one place in the whole of the indy movies there is a side kick, I mean Indy isn't a ninja. I could see the point if it were say a martail artist but indy isn't, thus its an easy lack of articulation to forgive.

Sorry there was just some glaring stuff in that statement.

On the figs, I am loving it, melted face toht is great, German indy like we asked, A better marion. Life is good.

Actually, with how the human body twists, and how the muscles follow it, the chest joint is more realistic. I will agree that it's not always as asthecally pleasing.

I find the lack of any lateral movement in the Indy and SW figures to be pretty agravating, when I try to pose them. It makes it nearly impossible to put them in anything but a nuetral stand. It also makes the upper leg rotation (something the Joes are sorely lacking) next to useless.

I have to say I've been very pleased with the articulation of the Indy figures, and I REALLY dislike the mid-torso articulation on most figures that are given it. There's only a handful of figures that can really get away with it -- Clone Troopers where it can be worked into the armor, and Marvel Legends where it can be worked into the musculature of the figure. Any figure that's molded to be wearing loose-fitting fabric -- I have yet to see one where that articulation point isn't EXTREMELY glaring and generally looks pretty awful. While waist articulation may not be, in the minds of some, as physically realistic, at least it can usually be worked into the physical appearance of a figure with a belt or pants line. There are just too many "cons" in mid-torso articulation for me to agree with its widespread use, and I certainly don't want to see it turn up in Indy!

I've enthusiastically snatched up every piece of this line so far. Here's to more on the way!

I also wish they had better hip articulation, but i find that the swivel knee helps make up for it somewhat. I'm glad this Marion has articulated legs, hopefully we've seen the last of the knee joint-less wonders.

Wow I bet the people who bought some single figures are a bit upset at the multi-packs.
Walmart exclusive $11.99 for 3 figures.
Target exclusive $19.99 for 5 figures.
That is $3.99 a figure!
I'm glad I didn't buy any yet. I might get that Crystal Skull set. 2 Soviet soldiers & Indy with a removable hat make that a good deal!

Bad news. According to TNI, Melting Face Toht is going to be a variant.

If so, that sucks big time! :verymad:

I'd like to get a Belloq in his field outfit, like at the beginning of Raiders.

I must say out of all the SDCC showings, the Indy stuff disappointed me most. :-/

5 figures? Come on! Those bastards promised to show a vehicle. I wanted to see the figures already confirmed (Ark Ghost, Belloq and Dietrich)

Plus I'm getting tired of Hasbro breaking their promises. They said at first the melted face Toht and Dietrich would have alternated heads included, not this weak "LASER BLAST" variant business.
Granted, I'm not that fussed about Toht because I'm gonna get a load for suits anyhow.

I guess with all the cool stuff they were doing, they had to take a backwards step somewhere.

Wankers.

Ditto to all of the above.

Probably waiting for next years Toy Fair to show most of next years range.

What I am wondering is the UK date for these figures and TOD. From what I can see, the UK release date for TLC is the end of September. Which probably means we get TOD in January.

You would have thought that Hasbro would want most of the range on teh shelves in time for Christmas.

Yeah, but...it's hard to get new product onto store shelves when the old product isn't going anywhere. :shifty:

I think it is odd that the Hasbro Q&A announced Dietrich and said to wait for SDCC, yet very little new stuff was shown at SDCC. I think Indy would do well with just a few larger waves per year. With waves 1 & 2 clogging shelves, it would be nice to be able to order them online in larger clumps to save on shipping.

The rumor list on theraider.net also included these:

Belloq in casual dress
Marcus Brody

I'd be really excited to get those in addition to Dietrich.

I am wondering if these multi-packs will have better paint application. The faces I saw on so many Spalko figures was awful. So I could see some of the 5-packs being more worthwhile if they just did a bit better with the same molds.
