I'm interested in seeing what Larry does with this GIJoe reboot.
Doesn't sound like he'll just rehash his old stuff like Simon Furman does with Transformers...

I'm also curious if IDW will create new characters... and if Hasbro will make those into toys.

That would seem to be the next logical progression. Hasbro has spoken a lot about how the 25th line was a celebration of everything up to now, and the toy line will likely focus mainly on the movie line next.

But having Larry Hama reboot the story will likely mean that we'll see some amount of re-invention of existing characters, which may lead to new characters being created by him to facilitate telling the new story of Joe. Granted, when he created so many of those non-figure characters in the comics, he didn't have the huge cast to draw from that we now have; but Larry seems to be a pretty inventive guy, and hopefully Hasbro gives him the leeway this time tell the stories the way he wants.
