Found these at Target today, I was looking at 'em in the car and something caught my eye . . .

Foot pegs? Kind of an odd spot for 'em . . .

What the heck are those holes for? Did I miss a piece?

Nope . . .

The M.A.S.S. Dominator, or maybe the Weather Device? Either way it was cool of Hasbro to incorporate the compatibility. It's also nice to have something resembling a complete item while I wait the two-three months that it'll take to get the next wave of DVD sets.

No, no, no, that's Cobra's latest device, the WEATHER M.A.S.S. -- able to beam squads of Cobra-employed meteorologists all over the planet to make inaccurate weather forecasts and assorted dire predictions about floods, monsoons, global warming, volcanos, earthquakes, wildfires, anything to shake up the populace. :-D

(Quick question about these devices -- are they at all to scale with the figures? The Weather Dominator wasn't all that huge, but the M.A.S.S. device was -- well -- pretty massive.)

Great discovery! And brilliant on the part of Hasbro.

OK, I give Hasbor credit for that one. That is pretty cool giving the peices some added umf. The interchangeable parts is a great touch that only happens when the designers really give a dam about the product.

Which is why the MASS Device is in five parts. You have to buy all five DVD sets to get the complete thing.

The weather dominator is pretty close from what I cna tell. The MASS device is under scaled. In the cartoona troop of Cobras and several Hiss tanks stood in front of the thing and it was big. There is that picture in the vehicle poster of Destro at the controls and he eye to eye with the main part of the device. Granted in the cartoon the thing changed reference size from scene to scene as things often do ina cartoon but it should still be a probably twice as large to be exact.

With that said, having these made has been a long time wish for me. Getting them even in a sclae that isn't quite true is still pretty good. GI Joe isn't known for creating 100% faithfully to scale representations for the vehicles either so why should these play sets be any different. Doesn't make them any less cool or any less worth the price of the set.

the bad thing about these sets are the lack of weapons. No knife for SE's and stalker and no pistol for the holster either. The jetpack doesn't come with the gun either but that's alright.the figures are nice though actually.

Yeah, I was pretty annoyed by the lack of pistols and knives for SE and Stalker. And for some reason they decide to make a new knife for Roadblock? Weird. Also annoyed that they made new hands for SE and preposed one of them. I bet they won't make a left ungloved hand in a neutral pose either, despite how useful it'd be.

Still, nice sets, and the upcoming ones look even better.

They've just started coming out, so don't worry yet.
