That said, I love Dodger, and the fact that he survived an unsurvivable situation. In my Joeverse, he totally has mental problems now... not crazy or dangerous, just troubled. Did he survive because he's meant for a higher purpose, or is he just invunerable. In the interest of protecting the innocent, he'll try any crazy trick, strap on any untested machine, and rush headlong into the most dangerous situations, either assured he'll be fine or not particularly caring either way.

I think that's one of the big things we missed out on with the proposed relaunch of the GI Joe comic with Larry Hama back before Devil's Due (can't remember the name of the company now...). Out of the small team, Dodger was included. Some people really wondered about that, but like you, I think the story possibilities are immense.

Yeah... I was a little disheartened back then when I proposed the idea that Dodger was somehow chosen for his story-potential and Benny Powell just looked at me funny.

Paraphrasing, he replied 'No, we needed a radioman, and Dial-Tone's kinda gay. Dodger had a little mic on his helmet, so we figured we could use him.'

Not to say Hama wouldn't have worked the magic, but it was a lot less glamorous knowing why he'd been chosen by Benny, who actually cast the comic proposal that Larry then scripted.

BF2000 ROCKS!! I liked them all but Dodger was my fav. followed by Knockdown. It was summer vacation 1990 I was 12 and my mom was taking a friend of hers to a doctor's appt. or something. We passed by this little store and decided to stop on the way back . The owner had tons of old toys everywhere 8-O ,I was in heaven :-D On the table in front of me was the entire group of BF2K except Maverick. I asked how much for the figures the owner said " 50 cent each ". Six years later I finally got Maverick. my bestfriend and must have play 100 adventures that summer with. Good times..Good times :-P
