I just got the new Lee's Toy Review magazine and they have an article about Hasbro.

I haven't heard any news about this, but available at the SDCC are two 25th versions of Cobra Commander. One is a black civilian suit and the other is a blue civilian suit. Both come with a Cobra banner podium and he's wearing his hood.

"Two versions of Cobra Commander, in black and blue suits as he addresses the Cobra hordes, will be available at the Con. $9.99 retail."

I'm not sure how this would work, but I would be interested in getting both or even one of them.

That was told WAY before the Joecon DJ. The figure has very limited articulation though.

The big question is...are they gonna be available to buy at Hasbrotoyshop.com like the PDD was ?

I seem to have missed that thread, rogue... :)

Taking a second look at the pictures, it appears that ol' CC has neck, shoulder, elbow, and wrist articulation. Can't tell what he does below the waist as he's blocked by the podium.

Although, it appears the blue suit version has...pastel yellow pants? :shifty:

Must be for when he's recruiting in Miami!

I think that body will be either used for a ROTLA Toht or a TLC Donovan figure. Heck, maybe both.

Keep hearing about the limited articulation. Who want a super-articulated figure in a business suit? All you need if for him to be able to sit, stand, and pick up his coffee cup.

That's logic that I really hope Hasbro doesn't follow for non-exclusives. Otherwise we could get lots of "sure we limited the articulation, but really, why do you need super-articulation for a (fill in blank)? All they have to do is (fill in blank)." We want the articulation because that's one of the staples of the Joe line. When you take away articulation, bad things happen (armor tech, ninja force, t-crotched JvC). I'm okay with it for an exclusive (...kinda. I still would have liked a Joe-articulated suit body), but I really hope they don't start deciding that other, wide-release characters 'don't need' articulation.

Therein lies the problem, from the looks of the figure, he won't be able to sit down, let alone come close to doing so. If the figure could do that, I'd have no issue with it. I'll still be buying one, but it's not the Joe-ticulated suti body a lot of people hoped for.

Oh, and a lot of people want a super-articulated figure in a business suit. I'd buy 10 for customs easy were one to be released. Bought multiples of the Marvel Legends Professor X for the same reason, a suit body is very versatile.

I'm not sure about the waist joint, but the others don't look that bad. Joe Club has pictures posted here. Looks to be they are following the 25th format, but changed the waist and torso from the norm. I would like to know the pants color to the black suit version.

Let's see:

1) I was making a joke because 2) Hasbro has already done this with the 25th. Cobra Commander and Shipwreck's closed fist (to me, a hand that can't even hold a weapon is useless on an action figure), the diaper crotch on the early figures so that they couldn't even sit, and Wild Weasel's belt that kept him from sitting down without modifying it - just off the top of my head. It happens in the SW and Indy lines, you just have to hope it doesn't get worse in the GI Joes - the toymakers forgetting they are toys to be played with.

No reason to take offense, I was just responding to your comment, which I've seen others make as well....

No offense taken, just wanted to explain my joke/gripe with Hasbro ;-)

I can't remember from last year - did the exclusives show up during or after ComicCon on HTS? Hoping to pick up the S6 AT Tiger repaint for the Marvel line.

The Destro exclusive was pretty tough to get from HTS, but the ML exclusives from last year are still available on there I think, so you shouldn't have a problem there. Hopefully they've produced the SDCC Commander in greater numbers, since I actually want this exclusive, unlike Pimp Daddy Destro.

I got a regular edition Destro fairly easy on HTS, but the gold head was impossible. You still had to pretty much be online when they went up on the site. If I recall correctly, the first day SDCC opened, the exclusives were able to be ordered by 9:00am (my time, central). I'm going to try and get my wife to keep reloading the HTS page when it's time so she can place my order. She wants the Combat Hero Snake Eyes too.

Does anyone know how many of each figure can be bought at the con? My wife and I are going and I'm hoping to score some extras.
