Thomas, I wrote an entire thesis on it.

I had to point out to a crowd of anti-gun and anti-action mothers and fathers that GIJOE, while possessing a military theme, was far, FAR less violent than Tom and Jerry, which at one time was voted as the most violent cartoon in history, which they thought incorrectly as sedate.

GIJOE: No one died, not even in air crashes and laser fire. Informational PSA's at the end of some episodes to teach children. Multiethnic as well as multicultural.

Tom and Jerry: Teaches the tried and true *virtues* of revenge, betrayal, and how to not respect personal property. Brilliantly delivered with an orchestral track and cute anthropormorphic representations.

Actually the most violent cartoon considered is Speed Racer. It was the first thing we talked about in RTF(radio television film) 101 in my freshman class of college.

When Resolute comes out sadly your thesis will go out the window. No parachutes, no pew pew lasers. Granted its aimed at pg 13 but for a lot of idiot parents cartoons=for kids.

How is Speed racer violent?

The anime was very violent. Cars blew up, or burned up with people in it and unlike the movie there were no rescue bubbles. People got shot, stabbed and beat up. All was shown on screen. Unlike the movie...

The movie was a very G rated version of the anime.
Imagine the anime being Resolute and the movie is the Joe Sunbow series. But unlike Resolute blood was shown and violence wasn't off screen.
