Animated by J & M Studios (the guys behind Avatar: The Last Airbender) and written by Warren Ellis, it is an adult, serious storyline with a fantastic animated style.
Is 'adult' a forum friendly way of saying the material is respectful to the genre instead of the typical focus on gore and extremism that makes fans want to cling to their comics and Original 13?

Yes "adult" in this case doesn't mean gore. They gave you everthing you wanted without you having to see it. As they cmpared this to, it's a lot like the old horror movies where you don't have to see the dead body to be scared and know what happened.
It is a reboot and a beginning. They pretty well made that point by showing the original cartoon start and the film "burned" as it gave way to the new cartoon. If anybody has paid enough attention, you know how I am about continuity. Saying that and getting what we will be getting, I am fine with a reboot. It's true to the characters, true to the style, and so much better. They even said Duke got a "character lift" so to speak by having some thing tweaked about him that people do not like.
