I found it on TNI:

http://toynewsi.com/news.php?catid=9&itemid=13145

They say it is Undertow, so no real need to put it in a spoiler tag. They also mention the AT set and said it did come up during the round table discussion. I wasn't there. Going by TNI, Brian is just wanting to do it, not necessarily that one is coming out. I think Killumati could make a killing if he made some special clothing to work with any AT figures in 3 3/4". I gotta order me some of the stuff he had that he was short handed on or out of.

There's also a tiny pic on their main page of the Undertow . . .

but nothing in the linked article. Regardless, I may have to renew my membership to get one, it'll probably depend on whether I go to the next con or not.

I'll probably renew anyway. There will be lots of movie news and such coming out that'll probably be first seen through them. They're probably working to secure something exclusive with the cartoon as well. They did put on a great show too this year.

Um... I just heard something that made me raise an eyebrow...

I've seen the figure in person (in Canada) and pics on the web, but he always had his helmet on, and it didn't occur to me to look super closely...

Does 25A bomber jacket Hawk have brown hair again? Is that one of those details that is paying tribute to a silly error on the original?

Yes, the 25A Hawk does have brown hair paying tribute to the original. It wasn't an "error" originally it was a conscious decision to differentiate Hawk from Duke because they might end up looking too much alike on the cartoon.

Those pesky toon fans seem to prefer the brown hair, anyway... :shifty:

I much prefer blond hair over brown, but considering this is a tribute to the '86 version, it makes sense.

Justin

I know, I just consider that an error. Actually, the real error was the judgement in creating Duke at all, but I digress...

Interesting. I guess after Major Bludd and Deep Six I shouldn't be suprised, but I still think that since the anniversary 'tribute' is supposedly over, they could at least add some common sense ito the mix when they update figures whose original designs lacked it.

I was sick this past weekend with an unbelievably nasty virus (still feelin the effects) that had me out of commission during the entire Con, so I didn't get to digest and post about all this win until now. I have to say I'm blown away. Hasbro Joe team is firing on all cylinders and I'm bowled over by all the amazing product coming. I won't be getting everything due to space/budget, but this is an amazing time to be a Joe fan. Most psyched for the Rattler, all the media packs, the upcoming singles, (Wraith!!!) and of course the cartoon and movie.

Count me as one of those pesky toon fans. I liked Hawk's character in the Sunbow cartoon better then the comic so for me this figure is a perfect update to the original figure and the cartoon.

However if they had made him with blond hair I wouldn't of cared that much either. Probably would of just painted it brown. The entire blond hair vs. brown hair things has always been a pretty lame argument, like what you like the world will continue to turn on it's axis regardless.

A few words on the AT, from what I heard there in person, not off some site:

The pic they had up showed the 3&3/4 Pilot, Marine, Soldier, and Sailor with photoshopped flocked heads from 12"

Brian said they were just testing the waters on if it was a good idea or not, he said, and I quote: "thats all that has been made so far guys..no plastic or nothing", just that mock up picture.....

The reason the hads wouldn't be flocked is that it is too small....the flocking would be too long.

They would release them as club exclusives

They would be released probably in pairs or single every quarter

They got some of the 12" guys riled up when someone asked if they could make vehicles for the line.....Brian said anything is possible.....that even a MSV is possible..
